It is my conviction that the meaning of life does not dwell in the lengthof time that one can live or the material abundance that one can acquire, but inthe richness and the wonderfulness of life itself. With the increase of my age,many things in my life have changed. For four consecutive years of my undergraduate study, I receivedscholarships for my distinguished academic performance. Due to my equallyprominent performance in extracurricular activities I was conferred on theOutstanding Student in Campus Activities. However, honestly speaking, my realinterest lies not in economics, but in education. Ever since I was a primaryschool student, I had cherished a strong desire for a teaching careerexemplified by my teachers. In the actual teaching career that I embarked onupon my graduating from university, I have become increasingly aware that theexisting educational conditions in China are far from satisfactory. The backwardteaching methodology and the prevailing pedagogical ideology have renderedChinese education out of place with the modern international development ineducation. On the macro level, the current education theory and practice inChina lag significantly behind advanced countries in the West. For instance,though education via the internet has achieved considerable development in pasttwo years, in practical operation such education has more often than notdeteriorated into an extended form of the conventional examination-orientededucation instead of a really interactive process. In my personal experience,despite the fact that some of the problems that I have encountered in myteaching career can be solved by consulting relevant technical literature, Ihave found that the more serious flaws inherent in Chinas current educationalsystem cannot be worked out easily. Under such circumstances, an advancedprogram in education becomes necessary.

In this age of information, traditional education, both in its ideology andmethodology, has met unprecedented challenge like many other aspects of humanexistence. Meanwhile, the pursuit for higher levels of educational developmentand of the quality of life has largely transformed the educational valueorientation of the general public. The educational model that is centered aroundthe cognitive and intellectual instruction has been seriously questioned.Greater attention has been devoted to the cultivation of well-developedpersonality and to the ontological status of the individual in education. Suchissues as the internal studies of education science, scientific decision-makingin education, and meta-education have also been increasingly emphasized upon.There have also been innovations in educational research methodology. Thetendency has been to combine modern technology with humanistic researchcategories and with naturalistic research categories, and to organicallyintegrate qualitative descriptions with quantitative descriptions. It is alsoimportant to carry out educational experimentations in which educationalpredictions are complemented by educational feedbacks. Both the complexity ofeducation and the complexity of human individuals have made the comprehensiveapplication of diverse educational approaches necessary. Those new horizons arewhat fascinate me.

In view of the following qualifications that I have acquired, I believethat I will acquit myself satisfactorily in the prospective Ph.D. program ineducation that I am currently endeavoring to apply for. First and foremost, asis often claimed, ones interest is ones best director. I believe that I willdo well what I am really interested in doing. Secondly, though I majored ineconomics as an undergraduate, my trainings during that stage helped developeffective modes of thinking and research approaches. In addition, Iconscientiously self-studied many works related to education, including ADevelopmental History of Educational Science in the West, which enabled me toconstruct a solid groundwork for more advanced studies in this field. Next, itcan be safely asserted that education and economics are not entirely separated.For example, it is necessary to apply many statistical methods in educationalpsychology and my academic record indicates that statistics is the subject thatI am most good at. Last but not the least, my current teaching career and myteaching experience will play a positive role in facilitating my target degreeprogram.

The reason why I apply for the University of -- is that it is the firststate university with a time-honored history. The School of Education in thisuniversity is quite prominent among its counterparts in the field. I amparticularly attracted by the Schools powerful pedagogical resource, vibrantintellectual atmosphere and a comprehensive curriculum. It has tremendouspotential for development and commercial application. As for my motive inselecting Educational Psychology as another possible area of specialization inmy degree program, it is my long-cherished interest that primarily counts. Onthe other hand, all the accomplished educators since the 1960s have beenwell-versed in psychology. Almost every important new educational theory isderived psychological findings in one way or another so that educationalpsychology has subsequently developed into a fundamental subject for the scienceof education. The tendency in the 21st century is to emphasize on the microresearch of educational activities and against this backdrop educationalpsychology will be attached greater importance. In Instructional Technology, Iwould like to focus on the following studies: how to improve educationalefficiency by applying research results from natural sciences and engineeringtechnology; how to explore the combination and coordination of pedagogicalcontents and to improve teaching methodology by exploiting the theoreticalfindings from psychology and educational science concerning the process ofteaching and learning. In Educational Psychology, I will concentrate on appliedcognition and development, gifted and creative education, genetics and childrendevelopment, personality structure and individual differences and other relatedsubjects.

For me, to shift from economics to education and to pursue an advanceddegree in the United States is not so much a challenge as an opportunity. Atpresent, major reforms are being introduced into virtually every importantaspect of Chinese society. The field of education especially calls forcomprehensive reforms. The United States occupies an absolutely leading positionin the present-day world in education. 本合同中涉及的中介服务费必须向 留学生教育服务中心财务交纳(或汇入 留学生教育服务中心指定账户中)，以收到 留学生教育服务中心开具的正式票据为收款凭证。如无 留学生教育服务中心的正式票据，受托人有权停止履行该合同中任何的责任并对委托人交付的费用不付任何责任。

为了维护合同当事人的合法权益，依据《中华人民共和国民法典》及相关法律法规，委托人与受托人双方本着自愿、平等、协商一致的原则，就受托人接受委托人的委托提供自费出国留学中介服务事宜，达成如下协议：

一、服务项目及费用

第一条 委托人申请赴 (国家)留学;留学层级属 (初中/高中/本科/研究生/预科)。

第二条 委托人的服务费分两次支付给受托人，分别为一次服务费和二次服务费。本协议签订时，委托人需向受托人支付一次服务费。受托人在收到一次服务费、申请院校所需资料后，为委托人办理学校申请手续。受托人获得所申请的院校录取通知书时，委托人需向受托人支付二次服务费。受托人收到该款项及签证所需资料后，为委托人办理签证申请手续。委托人申请院校的数量及相应的服务费分别如下：(勾出并填写大小写金额)

□A类：受托人为委托人申请一所院校。服务费共计 元人民币。一次服务费 元人民币;二次服务费 元人民币。

□B类：受托人为委托人申请两所院校。服务费共计 元人民币。一次服务费 元人民币;二次服务费 元人民币。

□C类：受托人为委托人申请三所院校。服务费共计 元人民币。一次服务费 元人民币;二次服务费 元人民币。

第三条 其他费用(以下费用委托人可以自行交纳，也可以委托受托人转交)：

a. 校方要求交纳的相关费用(院校申请费、留位保证金、学费、医疗保险费、住宿费、监护人费、接机费等)：由委托人按申请院校的要求交纳;

b.使(领)馆签证费：由委托人按递交签证时前往国使(领)馆具体要求交纳;

c.体检费：由委托人按前往国使(领)馆指定医院的要求交纳。

d.委托人如委托受托人代办公证，公证费由委托人按公证处的要求交纳;

e.以及交纳以上费用可能发生的银行手续费。

f.委托人如果委托受托人申请多于3所院校的录取通知书，每增加一所，委托人需另外支付受托人中介服务费，此费用无论学校录取与否，都不退还。具体参见《补充协议》。

二、受托人义务

第四条 提供信息

1. 受托人为委托人提供自费留学咨询服务，介绍拟留学国家教育制度和申请院校的入学要求、入学申请程序等基本情况。

2.结合委托人条件帮助委托人选择前往国的学校和课程。委托人选择的拟留学国家的院校名称如下：

委托人获得其中任一所院校的录取通知书，即视为申请成功。若委托人需要延期录取通知书，双方协商一致后，受托人可为委托人按照拟留学国家院校及使馆规定办理延期手续，受托人不另收服务费。

第五条 申请入学

1.受托人帮助和指导委托人填写各类申请表格;协助和指导委托人准备入学申请的相关材料。

2.受托人应当及时向委托人报告办理入学申请的进展、结果。

第六条 办理签证

1.受托人指导委托人进行签证申请准备，协助委托人办理签证有关手续。

2.受托人收到委托人按委托人前往国驻华使(领)馆要求准备的全部申请签证材料后，应当在30个工作日内向委托人前往国驻华使(领)馆递交签证申请材料。如该使(领)馆在递交签证申请材料、送签时间有特别要求的，应按其要求办理;需要进行面试的，受托人可协助安排预约时间等。

3.若委托人签证申请被拒签，委托人需要再次办理签证有关手续，双方协商达成一致后，受托人可协助委托人再次申请赴拟留学国家留学签证的有关手续，受托人不另收服务费。

第七条 其他

1.受托人代表委托人与其所申请的学校及拟留学国家使(领)馆或移民局联系所有相关事务，拟留学国家使(领)馆或移民局指定需与委托人本人联系的情况除外;

2.若委托人需要受托人为委托人安排住宿，接机等服务，受托人可免费为委托人联系。

3.如委托人为18岁以下学生，应委托人及其代理人要求，双方协商一致后，委托人为受托人代为联系在拟留学国家的监护人服务;

4.受托人对委托人提供的所有材料，均负有保密义务。除为委托人入学申请、签证申请的目的之外，不得向无关的第三方透露。

三、委托人义务

第八条 委托人应符合中国公民自费出国留学的条件，遵守国家关于公民自费出国留学的规定。

第九条 委托人向受托人送交的所有文件、材料和陈述的内容应合法、真实、有效。

第十条 委托人应当自本合同签订之日起 15 日内，按受托人要求，把入学申请所需全部材料交与受托人;若委托人无法在规定日期内提交，应与受托人协商，确定提交日期。

第十一条 委托人一经选择了相关的专业或学校，不应随意改动;如果委托人坚持更换已选定的专业或学校，由此引起的费用及损失由委托人负担;

第十二条 在留学申请办理过程中，如委托人和委托人担保人或家庭成员的地址、单位、收入等发生变化, 须立即通知受托人，以便受托人通知拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆或移民局;

第十三条 在留学申请办理过程中，如拟留学国家的留学政策、签证政策或申请留学院校的入学要求发生变化，委托人应根据新的要求，及时提供补充材料。

第十四条 在留学申请办理过程中，如委托人拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆要求委托人进行面试，委托人应按要求参加面试。

四、违约责任

第十五条 委托人履行了合同、协议全部义务而未被所申请院校录取，委托人可凭校方书面通知向受托人主张退费。受托人根据委托人在本协议第二条所选择的类别，退还委托人一次服务费。

第十六条 委托人履行了合同、协议的全部义务却被拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆拒签的，委托人可凭使(领)馆书面通知向受托人主张退费。受托人根据委托人在本协议第二条所选择的类别分别退费：(勾出并填写大小写金额)

□A类：退还服务费共计 元人民币;

□B类：退还服务费共计 元人民币;

□C类：退还服务费共计 元人民币;

第十七条 委托人为达成本合同目的而向受托人提供虚假文件材料，致使合同无法履行，受托人不退还委托人缴付的中介服务费。

第十八条 委托人在合同、协议签订后因自身原因，要求解除合同、协议，则应承担全部违约责任，无权要求受托人退还服务费。由于委托人的违法行为，导致本合同无法履行，受托人不退还委托人缴付的中介服务费。

第十九条 受托人在协助委托人获得拟留学国家院校的录取通知书后，委托人无权要求受托人退还一次服务费;受托人在协助委托人获得拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆签证后，视为合同、协议履行完毕，委托人无权要求受托人退费。

第二十条 委托人通过受托人申请院校、办理签证过程中向所申请院校、驻华使(领)馆或政府部门交纳的费用，由委托人按照相关主体的退费规定向相关主体主张退费。受托人可以协助委托人进行有关的退费追索，但不负任何责任。

第二十一条 受托人在收到委托人退款所需资料(具体包括本合同和交纳服务费单据原件、校方或拟留学国家驻华使(领)馆的拒绝证明、委托人退费申请书)后，7 个工作日内按本合同相关规定退费。委托人可以亲自办理退费手续，也可出具有委托人正式签字的委托书委托其他人代为办理退款，委托人必需在委托书中详细注明受委托人的姓名、性别、年龄、职业、与委托人的关系以及授予他(她)的权利等。受托人将通过银行汇款或以现金方式向委托人退款，并解除合同。所需银行汇款手续费由委托人负担。如委托人未在本合同有效期内提出退款要求，即视为委托人放弃。

五、不可抗力条款

第二十二条 在留学申请办理过程中，如遇任何不可抗力(如战争、外交纠纷、签证政策变化等)的影响，导致申请学校及办理签证延误或停止，受托人将不承担相关责任。但受托人可为委托人顺延办理。

本合同所称不可抗力，是指不能预见、不能避免并不能克服的客观情况，如重大自然灾害、瘟疫、战争、骚乱、签证政策变化等。

第二十三条 对不可抗力所造成的影响，双方应及时协商解决办法和补救措施。本合同对不可抗力事件，以及委托人及受托人双方影响范围之外的情况不负责，如由中国政府、中国大学、拟前往国大使馆、拟前往国政府、拟前往国院校等机构决定的事项。

六、适用的法律及争议解决方法

第二十四条 本合同的履行、解释及争议解决均适用中华人民共和国有关法律。

第二十五条 双方在履行本合同中如发生争议，应先由双方协商解决。协商不成，双方均可依法向相关人民法院提起诉讼。

七、合同的补充、变更、修改

第二十六条 对本合同的任何补充、变更、修改应采用书面补充合同形式。补充合同在双方签署后与本合同具有同等法律效力。

第二十七条 委托人所签订的表明委托人欲申请的院校、专业等意愿的书面意见，经受托人书面确认后，视为本协议的一部分，与本协议具有同等法律效力。一方未经对方书面同意，不得单方变更。

第二十八条 本协议所称“合同”是《自费出国留学中介服务委托合同》、“协议”是双方补充协议。

八、 其他

第二十九条 若委托人在合同、协议签订之日未满18周岁，则不具备完全民事行为能力，须由法定代理人或监护人在合同、协议上签字认可后生效。

第三十条 本合同由委托人及其代理人、受托人、受托人法定代表人签署，自签字、盖章之日起方可生效。

第三十一条 申请出国留学属委托人自愿，委托人在申请过程中发生的本合同没有提及的任何费用，如在此期间发生的生活费及由此产生的误工费、误学费等费用，在任何情况下都应由委托人自行负担，与受托人无关;若属于退款情况，则执行上述退款条例，委托人不再提出任何索赔要求。

第三十二条 本合同正本一式两份，具有同等效力，委托人与受托人各执一份。

第三十三条 双方履行本合同的权利和义务后，合同终止。

为了维护合同当事人的合法权益，依据《中华人民共和国合同法》及相关法律法规，委托人与受托人双方本着自愿、平等、协商一致的原则，就受托人接受委托人的委托提供自费出国留学中介服务事宜，达成如下协议：

一、服务项目及费用

第一条 委托人申请赴____________________(国家)(院校外文名称，以外文为准)_______________ (院校中文名称)留学，就读________________专业，留学类别属________________ (学历或非学历教育)。(注：在实际操作中，可根据具体情况填写几个学校专业或大类别专业)

第二条 受托人向委托人提供留学前往国家的咨询、代办入学申请手续等中介服务。

第三条 委托人向受托人缴付出国留学中介服务费合计为人民币(大写)________________元。上述中介服务费不包括护照费、公证费、使领馆文件认证费，签证费和机票款等费用。

其中人民币_______元系入学申请中介服务费，该款应在双方签署本合同后即行支付;

委托人如同时申请多所院校的，需交纳额外申请院校的通讯费计人民币_______元。

二、受托人义务

第四条 提供信息

1.受托人承诺向委托人提供的出国留学信息、宣传介绍材料、广告等，内容真实。

2.受托人应当向委托人介绍前往国家的教育制度、留学政策、留学签证政策和申请留学院校的性质、办学资质、入学要求、入学申请程序等基本情况。

3.受托人应当向委托人介绍留学层次_________(属于就读所在国的高中、预科、专科、学士学位、硕士学位等)及就读专业的详细情况。

4.受托人应当告知委托人申请留学院校的收费项目,收费标准和缴纳费用的办法。

第五条 申请入学

1.受托人协助和指导委托人准备入学申请的相关材料。

2.受托人代为委托人办理入学申请手续。

3.受托人指导或为委托人办理缴纳报名费、学杂费等有关费用的手续。

乙方向甲方提供与学习计划有关的建议并协助甲方准备相应的申请材料;

乙方保证底特律大学为教育部认可之学校。向甲方介绍留学签证的有关规定，并进行签证前的面谈辅导及负责甲方留学生签证申请的相关工作;

乙方应甲方的要求并符合国外实情时，协助甲方预定航班;安排接机及住宿;

二、乙方的权利和义务：

按照底特律大学的规定，要求甲方提供相应的留学申请材料及办理相关必

备手续，并通过相关测试;

为甲方申请获得底特律大学入学许可原件，同时留存以履行并完成甲方委托之后续签证服务内容;

按照协议的约定向甲方收取咨询服务的相关费用。

乙方的义务

保证所提供留学项目的真实、合法性;

积极、负责的向甲方提供本协议第一条的服务;

为甲方之留学申请及递交之材料保守秘密;

积极、迅速、如实、准确地向甲方提供在留学申请中与底特律大学的联系

讯息，并针对具体情况提供建议;

三、甲方的权利和义务

甲方的权利

随时向乙方了解留学申请进程，美国及底特律大学的情况;

双方一旦确定申请院校后，未经甲方同意，乙方不得任意改变

甲方的义务

遵守国家法律和关于公民自费留学的相关规定;

按照乙方的要求及时提供办理底特律大学申请及学生签证所需文件和证明，并保证所提供材料在有效期内的真实性、准确性、合法性;

按照学校和使馆的要求，支付各项相关费用及邮电等杂费;

根据校方及使馆的要求，自行办理资金担保等手续;

甲方自费出国是以留学为目的，不得做出与学生身份不相符的行为，在留学

期间，自觉遵守所在国的法律、法规和留学院校的规章制度,否则,须自行承担由此导致的一切后果和责任;

按照本协议的规定按时向乙方交纳相关费用;

甲方须自行承担自己因办理出国留学而引起的误工、辞职、失业、辍学等责任;

甲乙双方只在办理出国留学手续上存在双方约定的法律关系。甲方的留学申请

若成功，其出国后的一切人身合法权益受所去国的法律管辖及中国驻该国使馆的保护，乙方不承担任何直接或连带责任;

甲方必须将所有收到的美国校方录取信及i-20表交付乙方，否则乙方有权终止本协议，且不退还甲方所有已交费用;

四、服务费用及支付方式

支付方式及金额

(1)甲方与乙方签订本协议书同时,甲方应向乙方交纳项目管理费600美金，此费用包含：乙方为本项目确保美国学校之长期认可，同时为学员提供留学咨询、留学规划辅导、留学资讯、转学分资料审查之费用，以及海外服务费用包括接机、安排住宿、学习辅导、生活辅导、联络家长、紧急情况的联络与处理。(2)在乙方为甲方办理留学申请并获得学校录取通知书交予甲方时，甲方向乙方交纳服务费18000元整(注：美国学校申请费、申请资料的国际快递费和使馆要求交纳的其他签证相关费用由学生自行承担，不包含在此服务费中)。)

退费原则

甲乙双方签订本服务协议书后,如甲方因个人原因终止办理时,所交费用不予退还,甲方则应将底特律大学录取通知书及其相关文件原件退还乙方,并视为本合同终止;

甲乙双方签订本服务协议书后,如甲方在委托乙方申请的同时,又委托其它第三方申请或自行申请,所造成的一切不利于执行本协议的后果,由甲方自行承担,乙方不承担任何责任且不退还任何已收费用，并视为本合同终止;

如申请人的签证被拒达三次时(第二次和第三次签证乙方不再收取任何费用,但签证费由甲方自理),甲方须将已收到的入学许可原件交还乙方，而乙方应在7个工作日内将已收到的服务费退还甲方、并不承担其他责任或经由甲乙双方协商另行决定;

五、协议生效与终止

本协议自签约之日起生效

本协议在履行过程中，若乙方发现甲方提供虚假学历及相关证明材料,则有权终止协议，并不予退还甲方所缴的任何费用;

乙方协助甲方获得签证后，如因甲方个人原因不能按期入学或放弃入学所造成的 一切损失由甲方自负，乙方不予退还任何已收费用，同时本协议自行终止;

六、争议解决条款

双方因履行本协议条款而发生争议时，双方应友好协商解决，如协商未果则应由北京仲裁委员会进行仲裁，该仲裁为终局裁决，败诉方并须承担裁决费用;

七、不可抗力条款

双方均不承担出于不可抗拒因素而造成办理过程的延误和拒签责任，前述不可抗力指不能预见，对其发生和后果不能克服、避免的情况，包括但不限于战争、自然灾害、签证政策变化、外交冲突、政局变化、重大流行性疾病、法律、法规的变化以及政府行为等;

八、甲方为本协议履行而向乙方提供的所有信息，乙方保证仅用于为甲方提供本协议项下的服务，不得用于其它用途。

九、附则

本协议一式两份，甲乙双方各持一份，具有同等法律效力;

本协议未尽事宜，经双方协商一致，达成补充协议，作为本协议不可分割之部分。

Could I put myself in the life-threatening working environment? Could I sacrifice my life for the benefits of others? Some people may laugh at my crazy question. To me, that is a serious question I have come a long way to find my answer. “I am not sure whether it is worth to answer”; “What is the true meaning of that question?”

When I was a young child, I watched a soap opera that was about court. I was deeply impressed by the judge’s calmness and the lawyer’s eloquence and resource that were showed in this opera. From then on, I hoped to study law some day. Fortunately, I performed well in entrance examination and got enrolled into __ University. Then I chose law as my major without hesitation. At university, I studied hard and got GPA 3.4. What’s more, I broadly read all kinds of books, including philosophy, history etc. My teachers’ instruction strengthened my understanding of law and makes me understand the significance of law to a country. From my studies, I had a lot of fun and got more interested in law. Moreover, I actively participated in practice in holidays from common company to law firm and tried to apply the theory I had learned into practice.

This summer, I had my internship in counselor department in __ Group Co Ltd which was involved in a business contract dispute, which was submitted to China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration. As a representative of the requested applicant, I took part in the evidence collection in the early arbitration stage and clearly explained why the 5% balance of goods was not paid on time. After knowing the whole case, I visited my teacher, an Arbitration Law professor, and listened to her opinions. Realizing the counterpart didn’t completely implement their contract duty, I gave reasons as follows: First, the counterpart company didn’t mention bearing issue, which caused that the delivered machines couldn’t be put into the plant because of the disqualification of workshop. Thus overhaul was necessary, which delayed production and resulted loss. Based on these reasons, the counterpart didn’t completely carry out its duty, so our party did not pay the balance on time. During this time, I found out the evidence and pictures that attested counterpart did not give reasonable suggestion and service, and made a statement in the court. Finally, the arbitration turned out that counterpart compensated our loss, in which the arbiters invoked the reasons that I stated. They had a panel made up of 3 lawyers and 5 company representatives as agents while we just had 3 persons—two lawyers and me. Under such condition, I was able to cooperate with them and clearly stated my opinions without any nervousness, which got their respect. This matter greatly inspired my enthusiasm on study.

In addition, I took part in the contact draft in several companies. In the process, when I met a lot of problems, I often turned to my teachers for help, which made good impression on them. As I cherished each practice, I studied my specialty and English hard. With effective study method and diligence, I did well both in English and law, which helped me a lot to get scholarship every year. On the other hand, my practice inspired me to study. In practice, I exercised my legal knowledge. I also realize the big gap between theory and its application—sometimes I have master the rules but I didn’t know how to use it in actual case. My practice experiences have not only strengthened what I learned but have supplied new knowledge for me, which is good for my future study and career.

In my study and practice, I admired outstanding lawyers’ eloquence and jumping thinking more and more. However, in China, most of lawyers come from theory study and those who can perform well in practice are insufficient. Moreover, after the China’s entrance to WTO, there are a lot of problems with Chinese law. I think, my internship experience is not enough. In practice, I could combine substantive law with procedural law to analyze case, but I still feel my theoretical foundation is not solid enough. What’s more, comparably speaking, the chances that I have to initiatively study and practice are not a lot. Thereby, I am eager to study further abroad to know more about foreign law, thoughts and lawyer career so that I am able to stand out in fierce competition.

“Life is Like a Box of Chocolates. You Never Know What You are Going toGet”. Such words come from a famous movie “Forrest Gump”. I don’t know what kindof chocolate life will give me, but I believe I can achieve my target if I workhard with my unwavering belief and persevering efforts like Forrest Gump. As astudent of Mechanical Engineering, I have just finished my undergraduate studysince July. Next what I have to face is to choose the new chocolate which I haveyearned for all long. With four-year study of M.E. in China, I would like toscale higher intellectual heights by undertaking advanced studies in __University, as I believe its rich learning environment and free academicatmosphere will open my eyes to new realities and influence me to confront thesituation back home.

My strong interest in research was born during the undergraduate years at_University. Upon entering the university in 20__, I began to embark on myjourney of industrious study in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Myexceptionally solid foundation in mathematics and physics provided me with astepping stone with which I proceeded onto the exploration of othersophisticated and erudite subjects. I used toparticipate in at least six projects including the intern work in the factory,mechanical designs and graduate design.

Especially during the period from September to November of 20__, I readmany books and journals in the field of mechanical engineering such as “Handbookof Practical Gear Design” (Written by __). In these books, I did intensivereading on the theory of the speed reducer. I investigated and discussed with myteacher on how to apply the theory into the practice. Then according to myteacher’s advice, I tried to organize a team consisting of five members to makea harmonic gear reducer. As a team leader, I should not only take charge of thewhole arrangement of project but also make every member of the team cooperatewith each other harmoniously. Before starting the program, I, together with myteam, made a detailed plan covering the schedule, materials, and equipment. Thefirst step of our work is the design of the reducer. The design plan is asfollows: (1) Set down the blue print. (2) Complete 3-D solid model with Pro/Esoftware. (3) Finite-element analysis with ANSYS software. (4) Assemblingsimulation by using Pro/E. (5) Complete the 2-D draft of part and assembly.After two-week design work, we stepped to the next work, manufacture of theproduct. With the aid of the technique of computer, we plan the manufacturingprocess of every part. And then, all parts were made with various machine toolssuch as C lathe, wire electrical discharge machine, vertical machining center,and so on. Finally, we had toassembly all parts to the harmonic gear reducer,and test-drove it for many times. With five-week unremitting efforts, wesucceeded in the project of harmonic gear reducer and obtained the highestpraise. This special experience makes it very helpful for my further study.Firstly, I find the connection between theory and practice. Textbooks couldhardly cover everything, therefore, if we want to learn more, we should pursueevery opportunity to have practices. Meanwhile, I experienced the importance andmightiness of cooperation. In the project, we divided ourselves into severalparts, not only doing one’s own work well, but also cooperating with each otherharmoniously.

Another case worthy mentioning is my design project for graduation,“Manufacturing and Performance of Electroplated CBN Tools”. The main objectiveof this project is the manufacturing of the electroplated CBN (Cubic BoronNitride) wheels and the research of its performance when grinding theheat-resisted steel. I had completed three steps of task. Firstly, I took chargeof the manufacturing of electroplated CBN wheels, covering the following work:selecting electroplating solution, computing various electroplating parameterssuch as electrical current and temperature, adhering CBN to the tool base byelectroplating a nickel layer. After these basic preparations, I had to do thesecond part of the research work to compare grinding abilities of electroplatedCBN wheels with those of other wheels such as SiC wheels, Al2O3 wheels etc. Thispart of the work needs the researcher’s highly particularity and staidness. Idid the detailed work as follows: (1) Grind heat-resisted steel with variouswheels in the same grinding conditions. (2) Record data and compute the grindingratio of various wheels. (3) Measure the surface roughness of the heat-resistedsteel ground by various wheels. (4) Observe dulling and pullout of abrasivegrains of various wheels by using optical microscope. In this part, we canconclude that electroplated wheels have far better grinding abilities than otherwheels, by comparing parameters, such as grinding ratio, surface roughness etc.The final assignment of the project is to find out the most suitable parametersof grinding heat-resisted steel with electroplated CBN wheels, through comparingthe grinding ratio and surface roughness of heat-resisted steel ground indifferent grinding parameters. By investigating the attributes of electroplatedCBN wheels and concluding their practical grinding parameters, this project isvery important in promoting the application of them.

China’s unique advantage of labor force predicts the resplendent future ofits Mechanical Engineering, especially the manufacture, and it is our beliefthat this day will come soon. On the other hand, there are so many experiencedtechnicians in China, however, with the absence of advanced experts manyadvanced producing method cannot be used in practical yield. When I worked asintern in some factories, I found that most of them were still using facilitieswhich were used in America about thirty years ago. Therefore I want to use theadvanced knowledge earned in United States, combined with my acquaintance withChina, to improve the present situation and apply best the advanced scientifictechnology to practical social wealth as soon as possible. I hope to become asuccessful researcher in Mechanical Engineering, the arduous but exhilarativefield. 乙方违反本协议书时，甲方将根据乙方违约情况，对乙方批评教育，或给予行政处分，或停止公费待遇，或停薪留职，或要求乙方赔偿损失；必要时，甲方可将乙方违约的事实通知乙方留学所在国的有关部门或个人，或向司法机关起诉，追究乙方的法律责任。

为乙方出国留学的国内保证人、保证乙方执行本协议书。保证人须与乙方经常保持联系，每半年向甲方介绍乙方执行协议书的情况；如乙方违约，保证人须认真协助甲方追究乙方的责任。在乙方违约而保证人又未履行自己职责的情况下，保证人须承担本人经济收入能承受条件下的经济责任。

甲方与保证人因保证事项而发生纠纷时，经双方同意，可由甲方的上级主管部门裁决。

第十六条 本协议书自公证之日起生效，签字各方保证遵照执行。有效期限至本协议书第十二条规定的工作年限期满时止。

必要时，经甲方、乙方、保证人三方协商一致后，可对本协议书进行修改或补

As I involved myself into politics,I realized that it is all-embracive-wielding its way over social and economic life-it is the omnipotent of Pakistan.It can mobilize public opinion,gear up propaganda machinery,make or repeal laws and what not.Backed up by public opinion,supported by the majority of the legislators,armed with the means to keep the people in a state of ignorance,political power crosses the limits of dictatorial powers.Political power,like the most powerful intoxicant,makes the persons in power to forget social ethics,political morality and obligations.

Most of the learned youth in this country consider Politics to be "a refuge for the scoundrels" and this derogatory remark may be true if we look at the deceptive and degenerated type of politicians indulging in a dirty game.All these political parties are votaries of democracy,but the way they conduct themselves inside their own parties is nothing but senseless authoritarianism.Therefore a very few students choose to pursue Politics as a profession,but what they dont realize is that if we dont take a stand the system can never be changed.Thus,I want to study Politics so I can come back to my country and contribute what little I can do for my homeland and its people.If I can inspire even a single person,it would be worth it.The world today is growing global.We are now not only to think of our own nation but as and when we think of it,we have to keep the international perception in mind;consequently,I chose Politics with International Relations as one of my courses.

Studying in UK will breed a sense of individuality and self reliance.I would be able to interact with people from everywhere and get to know about their culture.This would not only open new horizons for me,but would also clear some preconceived notions one has about the other.I have always been an active participant of debates.I have participated in 3 Model UN conferences out of which I was awarded with the Best Delegate award in two.
