Research experience and academic activity When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. In 1997, I participated in simulation tool development for the scheduling system in Prof. Wang’s lab. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I d esigned a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. In 1998, I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to conv ert a laboratory idea to a commercial product. In 1999, I joined the distinguished Professor Yu-Geng Xis research group aiming at Netw ork flow problem solving and Heuristic algorithm research. Soon I was engaged in the Fu Dan Gene Database Design. My duty was to pick up the useful information among differe nt kinds of gene matching format. Through the comparison and analysis for many heuristi c algorithms, I introduced an improved evolutionary algorithm -- Multi-population Genetic

Algorithm. By dividing a whole population into several sub-populations, this improved algorithm can effectively prevent GA from local convergence and promote various evolutionary orientations. It proved more efficiently than SGA in experiments, too. In the second semester, I joined the workshop-scheduling research in Shanghai Heavy Duty Tyre plant. The scheduling was designed for the rubber-making process that covered not only discrete but also continuous circumstances. To make a balance point between optimization quality and time cost, I proposed a Dynamic Layered Scheduling method based on hybrid Petri Nets. The practical application showed that the average makespan was shortened by a large scale. I also publicized two papers in core journals with this idea. Recently, I am doing research in the Composite Predict of the Electrical Power system assisted with the technology of Data Mining for Bao Steel. I try to combine the Decision Tree with Receding Optimization to provide a new solution for the Composite Predictive Problem. This project is now under construction.

Besides, In July 20xx, I got the opportunity to give a lecture in English in Asia Control Conference (ASCC) which is one of the top-level conferences among the world in the area of control and automation. In my senior year, I met Prof. Xiao-Song Lin, a visiting professor of mathematics from University of California-Riverside, I learned graph theory from him for my network research. These experiences all rapidly expanded my knowledge of English and the understanding of western culture.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. 一.实习目的

1.通过本次实习使我能够从理论回到实践，更好的实现理论和实践的结合，为以后的工作和学习奠定初步的知识，使我能够亲身感受到由一个学生转变到一个职业商务英语笔译工作者的过程。

二.实习内容

20xx年6月中下旬开始在本校内为期2个星期左右的商务英语笔译的实习，起初我对笔译还不是太了解，选择笔译是基于我对笔译工作的特别爱好。商务英语笔译是一项需要耐心和精力的工作，它是以商务方面的资料为依据，要求翻译者对其进行全面，准确，快速的翻译，语言要表达准确，意思清晰。

由于商务英语笔译的翻译材料大部分都是非文学的，例如合同，客户资料，商业等专业性文件，所以它的要求就更为严格，苛刻，同时又必须符合“信，达，雅”的原则，难度相当的大，其中要用到大量的专业术语，范围不仅仅包括我们平时上课时所认识的，更多的需要我们通过各种可行的渠道去查阅，具有很强的专业性。这就要求我们在翻译时要严谨，不能给读者以错觉。

这次实习主要针对商务合同的翻译进行重点突破，花了整整几天的时间才磕磕绊绊的翻译一个合同，感觉到了前所未有的压力，也突出了自己眼高手低的缺点，平时课堂上老师讲的用的寥寥无几，更多的是靠自己查资料来获取准确的信息。其中有些既晦涩又在网上很难查的一般都给不了，这些都给刚开始翻译的我造成了各种各样的阻碍，往往会遇到原文看不懂或者觉得语法别扭不对的情况，这时候需要更大的耐心和毅力，需要坚持，对商务合同中的一些专业术语进行重点突破，查阅各种资料，在网上搜索各种专业术语，一点一滴的翻译，练得多了，慢慢就变的更加熟悉了，速度和质量慢慢的有所改善，当然和真正意义的笔译质量还是有相当的差距的。

工欲善其事，必先利其器。商务英语笔译也同样如此，它需要通过大量的网上资料和翻译软件来进行协助翻译，因此在掌握商务英语基础的同时，电脑成为了我们读取翻译资料的利器。在实习的过程中我们不难发现，其实很多相当一部分的专业术语需要我们通过电脑来进行翻译，来完成，基于此我们也有必要掌握一些简单的电脑知识和电脑软件，例如word文档等等。看来要作为一名合格的笔译工作者，电脑知识也是其必要的一个方面。

在实习的过程中常常出现翻译质量不合格的问题，这些对我们初步介入笔译领域的初学者是司空见惯的，没必要害怕，但同时是必须要引起我们的重视的，所谓熟能生巧，这个工作就更要求我们不断的进行练习，不断的进行知识积累。这次实习对我们来说就是一个十分难得的机会，辅导老师给我们的作用也是希望我们能有更多的机会去接触并练习商务英语笔译，这些都有助于我们提高翻译水平和翻译质量。

众所周知，商务英语笔译是很枯燥无味的工作，大部分的时间我们都是花在了凳子上，但是这同时也是对我们的一种挑战，能锻炼人的毅力。短短的两周实习时间，虽然短暂，但是对我们来说是尤为重要的，要好好的利用这次机会，认真的完成辅导老师给我们的练习和作业，不断的对我们的翻译能力和思维进行锻炼，严格要求自己，正所谓”不积硅步无以至千里“。对于合同翻译中的问题要弄个彻彻底底的明白，对于翻译的质量要精益求精，努力克服自己的不足，尽最大的努力积累经验，为以后的毕业工作打下坚实的基矗

三，实习总结

通过本次为期十五天的实习，让我真正的感觉到了商务英语笔译的难度和责任，我们作为刚刚起步的初学者距离合格的笔译者还有相当大的一段距离，需要学的东西和知识还有很多，尤其是专业知识的欠缺，动手能力的不足等等，我也明白这些不是一天两天就能弥补的，但是我相信只要通过我不懈的努力是可以不断缩小差距的，我坚信自己能做到这些。

八、甲方的责任：

8.1 甲方须按时将出租房屋及其家私家具用品与其设施以良好状态交付乙方使用。

party a shall deliver on schedule to party bvacant possession of the leased property including the furniture,furnishing and appliances and the related facilities for party b’s use(furniture,furnishing and appliances to be detailed in appendisl.)

8.2 租赁期内甲方不得收回出租房屋(除非本合同另有规定)，甲方保证乙方可不受干扰的享用该物业。

party a shall not repossess the leased property during the term of party a disturb of interfere with party b’s quiet enjoyment of the leased property.

8.3 在乙方遵守本合同的条款及支付租金的前提下，乙方有权于租赁期内拒绝甲方或其他人骚扰而安静享用出租房屋。

proviede that party b pays the rent and performs and observes party b’s terms and conditions in accordavce with this agreement, party b shall be entitled to hold and enjoy the leased property throughout the term of this tenancy without any interruption by party a or any other person.

8.4 租赁期内出租房屋的结构，进出物业的排水、上下管道、电路等处于良好使用状态。

party a agrees to repair and maintain the structure,drains, pipes and cables, etc.leading in to or from the leased property at all times in good and tenable repair during the term of this tenancy.

九、乙方的责任：

party b’s obligations:

9.1 乙方应按合同的规定，按时支付租金，保证金及其他各项应付费用。

party b shall promptly pay all rent ,security deposit and other charges payable by it in accordance with the terms of this agreement.

9.2 乙方应爱护使用出租房屋，如因乙方的过失或过错致使房屋设施及屋内用具和饰品受到损坏(正常损耗除外)，乙方应负赔偿责任。

paryt b shall treat the leased property with care. if as a result of party b’s negligence or misconduct, the leased property and the related facilities and accessorties suffer any damage(fair wear and tear excepted ),party b shall be responsible for compensating party a for such damages.

9.3 乙方应按本合同的约定合法使用出租房屋，不得擅自改变使用性质，不应存放中华人民共和国法律下所禁止的危险物品，如因此发生损害，乙方应承担全部责任。

party b shall use the leased property legally as agreed in this agreement and may not change such use on its own…party b shall not store any dangerous items which are prohibited by the laws in the people’s republic of china in the leased property and shall be fully responsible for any admages of losses as result thereof.

9.4 未经甲方事先书面同意，乙方不得将出租房屋转租或租给其他的第三者。

十、违约处理：

breach of agreement :

10.1 甲、乙任何一方如未按本合同的条款履行，构成违约，应承担相应的违约责任。双方同意违约方应赔偿守约方之直接损失人民币____________元。

if either party a or party b fails to perform its obligations hereunder ,it shall constitute a breach of this agreement and the defaulting party shall be liable for the liabilities resulting from such breach. the parties agree that the party in breach shall pay the other party compensation ____________________for the direct loss and damage suffered by the other party as result of such breach .

10.2 乙方有下列行为之一的，甲方有权终止本合同，收回出租房屋，并且保证金不予返还;

a.未得甲方书面书面同意，将出租房屋擅自转租;

sublets the leased property without party a’s written consent;

b.未得甲方同意将出租房擅自拆改结构或改变用途的：

alters the structure of the leased property or uses the leased property other than for the purpose started herein without party a’s consent;

c.无故拖欠租金超过三天(除双方就本合同存在争议除外)。

fails to pay rent without any reason for more than thirty (30)days after the due date except where there is a dispute in respect of this agreement.

十一、适用法律：

十二、争议的解决：

十三、其他

安排好一切，我们第二天就开始正式上班了，我们4人被分配成2组，在餐饮部和大堂两组。我被分在了大堂，经理说，在哪里也都是一样的，餐厅忙的话，大堂的也要过来餐厅帮忙。好好的运用你们学的知识开始锻炼你们自己吧。坐在大堂，我们的任务不单单是为入住客人登记资料，还要负责公函文件的翻译，跟随主管去市场采购，做现场翻译。开始跟随主管采购，他交我们如何选菜品，色泽，价钱，还有，最关键是要和那些商贩打好交到，这样可以得到最优惠的价格。其实，这买菜的过程里，也是一门很大的学问，学会与人沟通，与人交往，同时，也显示出了人际关系的重要性。

因为我们的老板是马来西亚人，不懂老挝语，我们就做她的随身翻译，跟随她出出入入，看她和人打交道，交流，处理事情等等，从她和人家打交道的一言一行中，我也学到了很多东西，讲话不能过急，稳定沉重，微笑待人。

在大堂，是我们最主要的工作点，这里，我们会遇到不同国籍的人，中国人，老挝人，美国人，欧洲人......面对这些客人，用微笑对待她们。当客人入住的时候，我们都要站起来，双手合十礼，说一声老挝语“撒拜迪”“您好”的意思。这个也是老挝的礼节，讲话也是不能声音过高，面带微笑，温柔的谈吐。当客人要走的时候，也要也要合十礼说一声慢走，下次再见等待之类的语言。我们和老挝方面的同事交流，不管是否会说错，我们也不怕，学语言，我想第一就是要先学会锻炼嘴皮子。动嘴动手动脑，三动合一，我相信就一定会学好!以前，在学校，总感觉不好意思去说，和别人交谈，从而，口语方面真的很差，有些话都是在脑子里转动，而说不出来，而现在，同过和老挝同事接触，交流，我可以开口就可以说，勇敢的和别人交流。她们也教了我们东西，教我们如何登记，收去现金，押金。还有统计处理表格，账目收入管理等等，以前，总觉得酒店的前台是一个简单的轻松的职业，而现在，自己真正踏入，才真正感受到其中的奥秘。没有任何事情是简单的，只有用心去做才能过很好的完成。

经理说，我们不仅仅要做好翻译这一块，还要懂得一个酒店的管理运作，餐饮部，客房部，商务部，她们之间是怎样联系的，是怎样一环扣一环的，懂得这些，对以后你们真正踏入社会也是非常重要的经验。

有一次，乌多姆赛的省长等省领导来酒店开会，用餐，我们一起穿正装去餐饮部服务。因为我曾在餐厅打过工，做过一年的业务经理，对餐厅的服务也有些大体上的了解，面对这样大的场面，我没有惊慌，从容应对。

发现老挝是一个爱唱爱跳的民族，享受着西方人的乐趣，边用餐边跳团结舞，因为人太多，我们服务有些累，但这热闹的气氛中，我们也在享受其中美妙音乐和舞姿的乐趣。

记的有一次，一位客人拿了一个杯子交我到酒，我因为太忙，没有顾得上看他的脸，倒好酒转身却不知道是谁的杯子，正好经理看见了，指给我看，我才解决了问题。下来，经理跟我说，服务，不仅仅是速度要快，而且还要做到万无一失，你要记住每一个脸，记不住脸，也要记住他穿的衣服式样，颜色。跟人打交到也是一样，首先，你要记住他长什么样，记住他的名字，职业，地位，这是很有用的同时也是对别人的一种尊敬。经理那天给我上的一课，让我铭记于怀。

在实习的期间，我也感到了自己的不足之处，英语不精通，不懂泰语，每当有欧美人来的时候，她们不会说老挝语，交流的时候就感觉很困，泰国人，她们的语言勉强可以听懂一些，而且，她们听的懂老挝语，可以交流，但也只是一点点。这个让我知道，学习，不能只学习一面，最好的是把东南亚这区域的语言都学会，不说精通，只要交流没有问题都行。在酒店，我们要遵守酒店的保密制度，有些东西只克内传而不能外漏。

与同事的相处，因为我们都是不同国籍的人，保护祖国的荣誉，爱护自己的人格尊严。同时，也要尊重老挝人的风俗习惯。不嘲笑辱骂她人，友好相处，彼此团结。

翻译文件公函，对于这个好多人都一样，老文翻译成中文容易，而中文翻译老文难。我也不例外，本身的词汇量不多，或是没有更多的练习，才导致这样的问题的出现。

生活，在酒店，酒店没有包吃饭的问题，我们只有自己动手丰衣足食，去市场买米买菜自己做饭，每天下班就开始做饭，我们深感到生活的艰苦，但是，这些都锻炼了我们的动手能力和对社会的生存能力。

通过这两个月的实习生活，让我学到了很多东西，了解老挝，了解她们的风俗习惯，了解她们的历史，了解她们的为人处事，同时，使我在老挝语方面的知识得到了更多的锻炼，除了加强巩固原有的知识外，我还更应该去接触新的东西，跟时代走，改革，创新。做一个复合型人才，一个社会需要的人才。同时，也教会和锻炼我在社会上与人打交道的本领，扩张了交际能力。学语言，关键是要学会动用嘴皮子，多写，多说，多练，才能更好的学好语言，更好的运用到实际当中，更好的发挥!

短期翻译服务合同
