高201x届1班(理科直播班)，现有学生56人，其中男生37人，女生19人。通过高中四学期的教学，学生的英语成绩有所提高，但仍然不够理想(如高二下期资阳市期末统考中，最高分121分，110以上5人，100分—109分有4人，90分—99分8人，共17人及格)，加之大多数学生的学习习惯不好，有许多学生不能正确评价自己，学习也不努力，不认真去完成学习过程的各个环节，给高三的教学工作带来巨大困难。希望在加强基础教学的前提下，能收到更好的效果。

二、指导思想和要求：

面向201x年的高考，以全面贯彻落实新课程改革的教育精神为指导，紧紧围绕课改区的命题特点和命题方向，积极主动地开展教学研究工作，落实学科教学常规，营造良好的教研氛围，不断改革课堂教学，探究科学有效的高三课堂复习教学模式。针对我校学生普遍英语底子差，基础薄的实际，在平时的英语教学中，在重点抓阅读的前提下，要长期不懈地培养学生学习英语的兴趣和良好的学习习惯。

三、教学目标与具体措施

1、明确方向

面对201x年的高考，教师必须明了高考要考什么以及怎样考;有目的有计划的组织好高考复习;否则复习就要走弯路，造成事倍功半的结局。 回顾近几年高考英语试题, 我们发现近几年高考英语试题主要围绕英语语言知识与英语语言运用两方面进行。 语言知识题的命题原则为: 在保证知识覆盖面的基础上, 尽可能增加综合性与语境化的因素。 语言运用的命题原则为: (1) 语言必须放在实际的并尽可能不同的情景中运用; (2) 语言必须适合具体的交际行为; (3) 考核焦点在于是否达到交际目的; (4)语言交际行为除了需要语言能力外, 还需要一些其他的能力。

2、具体措施

按照四种课型有针对性地进行复习：

A.习题课。做到训练目标明确，适当分层，个别指导，反馈及时。

B.基础知识复习课。做到教学案一体化，以练带讲，注重知识的创新组合，重点督查中后等生的复习效果。

C. 专题复习课。专题复习一般是紧接在第一轮复习之后的有针对性的强化复习，它既不同于以全面复习知识、方法、夯实基础为目的的第一轮复习，也不同于以综合训练为主提高应试能力的第三轮复习，而是就某块知识或某些方法、热点问题为专项的复习。专题复习起着承上启下的作用，具有举足轻重的地位，它既是对单元教学成果的巩固，又是对学科内知识的综合深化，是使知识系统化形成能力的关键环节，同时又为第三轮的综合训练进行了必要的知识和能力储备。其课堂教学设计必须根据学科教材的特点和学生实际情况，充分体现知识的系统性、基础性、发展性，要注意引导学生梳理知识，总结规律，融会贯通，提高学生在新情境中运用知识的能力。

D.讲评课。讲评课的教学要体现针对性(讲其所需，释其所疑，解其所难)、准确性(言之有据，正误分明)、系统性(纵横联系，前后衔接)、启发性(注重点拨，启发思维)，要注意启发思路，点拨题眼，引导上路。测试既是考查学生，同时也是考查教师，某一部分知识学生学的如何，水平如何通过答卷得到集中体现，教师教得如何，存在什么问题也集中反映在学生的答卷上。学生卷面问题反映集中的地方，也正是教师需要加强指导的地方。对于每一次测试、训练，在练习巡视中，在批阅试卷中要深入了解，从而掌握学生答题过程中出现的问题，为讲评试卷掌握第一手材料，从而做到有的放矢。做到分清错误类型，对症下药，抓错误点、失分点、模糊点，剖析根源，暴露学生的思维过程，解决思维受阻的原因。为提高讲评效果，测试结束后要快批快讲，提高效率，否则时间长了，学生的关心程度减弱，讲评效果也就达不到了。 四、本学年的复习思路

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995 I entered the Nanjing University of Science &Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester and my overall GPA(89.5/100) ranked No.1 among 113 students. In 1999 I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test. I selected the Shanghai Jiao Tong University to continue my study for its best reputation on Combinatorial Optimization and Network Scheduling where my research interest lies.

At the period of my graduate study my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. In 1997 I participated in simulation tool development for the scheduling system in Prof. Wang’s lab. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. In 1998 I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis &dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In 1999 I joined the distinguished Professor Yu-Geng Xis research group aiming at Network flow problem solving and Heuristic algorithm research. Soon I was engaged in the FuDan Gene Database Design. My duty was to pick up the useful information among different kinds of gene matching format. Through the comparison and analysis for many heuristic algorithms I introduced an improved evolutionary algorithm -- Multi-population Genetic Algorithm. By dividing a whole population into several sub-populations this improved algorithm can effectively prevent GA from local convergence and promote various evolutionary orientations. It proved more efficiently than SGA in experiments too. In the second semester I joined the workshop-scheduling research in Shanghai Heavy Duty Tyre plant. The scheduling was designed for the rubber-making process that covered not only discrete but also continuous circumstances. To make a balance point between optimization quality and time cost I proposed a Dynamic layered Scheduling method based on hybrid Petri Nets. The practical application showed that the average makespan was shortened by a large scale. I also publicized two papers in core journals with this idea. Recently I am doing research in the Composite Predict of the Electrical Power system assisted with the technology of Data Mining for Bao Steel. I try to combine the Decision Tree with Receding Optimization to provide a new solution for the Composite Predictive Problem. This project is now under construction.

Besides In July 20xx I got the opportunity to give a lecture in English in Asia Control Conference (ASCC) which is one of the top-level conferences among the world in the area of control and automation. In my senior year I met Prof. Xiao-Song Lin a visiting professor of mathematics from University of California-Riverside I learned graph theory from him for my network research. These experiences all rapidly expanded my knowledge of English and the understanding of western culture.

I hope to study in depth

In retrospect I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network) Supply chain network research Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. 北美学习、生活的几年，既学到了很多东西，也因中西方文化冲突，长了不少教训。此刻贡献出来，与国内的朋友们分享。期望各位今后在和外国人(英语是母语)交往中更富有 成效;也使那些为学好英语而苦恼的朋友少走一些弯路，更快、更好的学好、用好英语。

中国人在学习英语上花的时光最长，效果也最差。这和学习和应用英语方面存在重大误区有关，一是长期的“填鸭式的”教育方法，使很多人认为学英语是为了考试，其英语实际水平可想而知;二是误认为英语可是是由“发音、语法、句子和词汇”组成的。认为只要学习 “发音、语法、句子和词汇”就能学好英语。事实上，如果以到达有效交流为目的，比英语的发音、语法、句子最重要的部分，但被国内学习和使用英语的人忽略的是：表达语言所应 用的、贴合英语文化和习俗的正确方式、方法和资料。

首先，让我们一同探讨目的问题。没有目标的船只永远在海上漂流。学习英语的目的多种多样，但学口语的目的，仅有一个：为了能与Native English speakers进行“有效的交流” ，即工作中能与Native speakers 建立、持续和发展良好的工作关系;或生活中结交几个na tive speaker 的朋友，能够彼此交流感情、相互鼓励和帮忙。而不是为了和同胞交流，也不是为了能和“老外”说上几句诸如：How are you? I am fine，thanks。 My English is poor。 Bye-bye。 等幼儿园英语而转身离去，搞的“老外”一头露水，找不着北。(国内很多学英语的朋友，就好像一个苦苦练了10年武功的大侠，“十年磨一剑，双刃未曾试”，最终有一天有机会应对敌人时，唯一想到的招式就是：逃命!)更不是为了“为了说英语”而浪费时光的、没话找话的和老外闲聊---分手几分钟后，别人就 再也不想和你交往、也根本记不住你是何方神圣了。

在中国，可怜的老外们，大多饱经那些被问了上千遍雷同的、无聊的、毫无创意的、有时Ch inglish 式的问题的摧残和蹂躏，比如，Are you an American? Do you like China? 之类的。我发现，有的人竟洋洋得意地说：我英语口语就很好啊，好到能和老外聊几句天儿。 Come on! Give me a break!

英语学到这程度，那由中国式的、复杂的句子结构、严谨的语法和庞大的词汇构成的英 语潜力，只可是是“聋子的耳朵，摆设而已” ，因为那不叫“交流”，也根本不值得花这么 多时光学习英语口语。

新加坡的一个人，前一段时光出了本书，叫“亚洲会思考吗”，说亚洲国家，包括日本、韩国在内，除了会模仿，不具有创新(Innovation)的潜力，很难真正好处上和欧美竞争 。但愿不要被他不幸言中了。

我在去美国留学前，自认为英文水平还能够：毕竟学了那么多年，自我也下了许多功夫，且上了不少培训班---从普通的到最高档次的，里里外外花费了上万元。应付各种考试包括留学考试，也算是一飘过关斩将。可是，到了美国后，刻骨铭心地学到了一个词“Chinglis h” ---中国式的英语”：用英语和自我同胞交流时还能够应付，可是和"英语是母语"的同学、教授和其他人士进行交流时，一涉及到实质问题，双方谁也听不懂谁!至少有半年的时光痛苦异常!霎时光自我失去了交流的潜力，多年建立起来的信心和信念，像是一下要被摧 毁了。

他们What’s up?What’s new?的说法到能应付，谈谈天气什么的也没问题。可是，就是觉得很难和他们去沟通，哪怕只是认认真真地谈谈。在国内，我很容易和大多数人成为朋友，自我也一向引以自豪，因为你诚心地对待别人，别人通常也已会真心的待你，否则你下次对他“敬而远之”就是了。可在美国开始的时候，怎样就那么费劲?!诚心不起作用了?

是自我的语音、语调问题吗?不是!如果你有机会领教一下印度人的英语，你或许还会 为中国人的发音多少感到自豪呢。我有个印度同学叫Abe，直到毕业我才听懂他大部分话的意 思! 可是，印度人“可怕的”发音，丝毫不影响他们和美国人流利、有效的交流!

是语法和句子的原因吗?也不是!我有幸在美国的大学里，结识了一位来自中国的、才华横溢的美国籍教授，年近40岁时因为杰出的数学才能，移民到了的美国。发音就别提了，他讲英文时，你还能轻而易举地挑出很多语法和句子错误，但这丝毫也没阻碍他在美国生活 近二十年，用英语给美国人上数学和工商管理课，并且取得成功。

到底是什么原因呢?在国外生活几年以后，我才渐渐明白了其中的道理：“如果以到达“有效交流”为目的，英语的发音、语法、句子绝对没有国内的各种人士强调的那么重要，而被国内学英语的人士忽略的、也恰恰是最重要的部分是：表达语言所应用的、贴合英语文 化和习俗的正确方式、方法和资料。

语言是其文化和习俗的载体、沉淀，虽然人类的各种文化多少有相通的一面，可是更多的是其特殊的一面。而西方文化有着与中华文化截然相反的一面。例如，她崇尚“用心进取 ”positive or ambition的态度，和中国人“谦虚、艺术”的处事、说话原则，经常发生“冲突”，构成对有效交流的妨碍。这就是所谓的“文化冲突、差异”。

所以，那种用本国文化和习俗去套用英文的学习方法和应用方法，加之学了太多得“没用的、很多讲母语的人都不曾用的甚至、不曾听说过的词，和过时的词、句，听不懂真正的 英语和不能和“英语为母语的人士”交流就毫不奇怪了!

所有学习英语的策略和技巧大致能够分为二类。一类是需要你自我安下心来，花费时光去反复记忆 ---记忆那些自我和别人总结、归纳的知识。这部分工作，没有人能替代你，无论是怎样的天才!(因为吃鱼有利于智力和记忆力，有人求教马克×吐温，问吃多少管用。马克×吐温答道：看来您至少要吃两头鲸鱼!)可是，如果只是埋头苦学，就能学好英语的话，那中国人的英语水平，理论上应当是顶尖的了，事实却正好相反。(在国外学习，深深感到：大概是因为长期训练的结果，记忆和背诵潜力，尤其是记忆、背诵那些不理解的东西，是咱们中国人的强项;但实际应用和创新潜力，总体来讲是我们的弱项。)

所以，另一类是“如何在现实生活中，有效的运用英语以到达交流目的”的经验和技巧。中国人勇于理论而逊于实践(为读书而读书：“万般皆下品，唯有读书尊”)。因为应用技巧很强，这部分技能被国内学英语的人士长期忽略。或是因为接触 Native speakers有限，难以得到“真经”，或是因为学英语追求“高、大、全式”英语的嗜好和国人好面子的心理， 使大多数人乐于采用传统的、也是最安全的的学习方法：对句子、语法和词汇的执着偏爱，甚于使用英语和Native speakers交流。其实，语言只是一种工具，除非你以此作为职业，否则它本身没有任何好处，也没有任何用处，如果它不能为“交流目的”而服务的话。

读书和自学对提高英语有帮忙。但书的缺点，和自学一样，没有反馈，没有双向的交流。理论上明白的事，实际做起来是不一样的。尤其是语言，遵循“用进废退”的原理。掌握这部分的最有效方法是：创造条件和机会，同英语为母语或在国外生活过的人学习和交流。

Practice， practice and practice!

研究证明，人在交谈时，80%的信息来自身体语言(body language)、语音(intonation)and 语调(tone)。此外，对交流有效性的影响，还包括双方交流的意向、谈话的资料、对英语文化的理解和有效运用等诸多因素，而绝不仅仅仅仅是句子、语法和词汇。

所以，常常能见到这样一个搞笑的现象：一个仅有五、六千词汇的秘书、助理，能用英语同“老外”流利的交流，而一些有号称三、五万词汇量的、手持六级英语证书的硕士、博士，学了十年、二十几年的英语，应对英语为母语的人，除了最简单的几句不痛不痒的所谓的对话，有多少人能进行“有效的交流”呢?更不用说用English而非Chinglish表达自我的思想了。

Chinglish则是指: 用汉语文化、思维和习惯等去套用“英语文化”，其结果是所学到的、所谓的“流利的英语”仅限于和同胞交流，和“英语为母语的人士”交流时，双方因“文化差异”在语言表达上的体现，无法相互理解和沟通!

不去了解和学习英语国家文化在交流、沟通运用上的体现，而只是套用本国的文化和习俗，往往是造成交流障碍的原因。其后果和损害，远远大于因为发音、语法和句子的缺陷而造成的损害。因为发音、语法和句子暂时不好，每个人都会表示理解，因为毕竟英语不是你的母语，能够慢慢提高。但因为“文化冲突” 造成的人格、品行上的误解，甚至有可能起到和你要到达的目的相反的结果，毁掉了宝贵的发展机会!在一个人有限的生命里，如果思考到年龄、职业发展轨迹、客观环境和条件等因素，人生真正的属于你的机会仅有二、三次而已!

举个例子来说明文化冲突：西方人在交谈中讲究“eye contact”，交谈的双方要注视对方的双眼，中国人对于“自我的两眼直视对方的两眼”的看法多半是：这样"直勾勾地"盯着别人不太礼貌。但西方人士却认为：说话的一方“两眼直视”表示自我的诚意和坦白的胸怀，听话的一方“两眼直视”表示了自我对话题的兴趣和对于对方的尊重。所以，西方人在见面时，配合着“eye contact”的，是自信的微笑(无论内心中怎样想)、 有力的握手(礼节性的碰碰手，英语中称为“死鱼” shaking a dead fish)和正面思考型 (positive thinking)的谈话，会使人产生和你继续交往的意愿。相反，如果是躲躲闪闪的目光(有的人更是因为想英文词句，而抓耳挠腮、呲牙咧嘴或上翻白眼)、木然的表情(称：喜怒不行于色)和消极的谈话资料，无论你的语法、发音和句子多么纯正和优秀也让别人"敬而远之"。察己知人，你愿意和一个同你根本就格格不入的人交往吗?!

再举个例子，同样是“追求财富”，中西方的流行做法和观念截然不一样。西方人，尤其是北美人，推崇企业家精神: 那些靠自我的才能和努力而不是裙带关系和屈服于权贵白手起 家的人。他们抛弃自我本可能的安逸生活，去冒险、创业、拼搏(比如我Henry，哈!)，并充分运用现代商务运作手段：市场调查、产品研发、广告和营销、质量控制、售后服务等，使自我的产品、服务为社会所理解和喜欢，最终双赢。企业家，是西方民众心目中无可置疑的英雄!能够说，对企业家精神的推崇和追求，是美国能够在开国仅200多年就傲视群雄，硬是把当年号称“日不落帝国”的宗主国大英帝国，变成了这天的跟班小伙计。

中国很多人则不然，心里爱财，又羡慕企业家的财富和影响，嘴上却称钱为“铜臭”、称所有的企业家都为奸商---无商不奸，对正当的商业行为，比如合理的广告，都逆反到嗤之 以鼻、做不屑一顾状。岂不知民族的兴旺和企业家精神息息相关?美国商界有句名言：好的产品不做广告，就好像你只是躲在黑暗里，向你喜欢的异性眨眼一样。

在西方，企业家精神还是一道“自由社会”的屏障。美国以清教主义(Puritanism)立国。1620年，距李自成先生的百万农民大军，大肆劫掠北京尚有24年，一批清教徒为免遭宗教迫害，寻求自由，从英国的Southampton乘坐 The Mayflower 号，抵达美国东海岸，被称 为Pilgrim Father。清教徒认为：贫穷(Poverty)和懒惰(Laziness)同样是一种罪恶。人就应、也能够透过自我奋斗，取得成功，包括财务上的自由。

老美说：“取得自由的唯一手段是辛勤的工作，或者有一个有钱的爸爸。”哈，哈。对不起，后半句是Henry我自我加上的!明智的人，是不会把太多的钱留给子孙的：如果子孙们 有本事，自我会挣到的足够的钱的;没本事，留下多少钱也不够挥霍的，反而害了他们。而中国人明知“富可是三代”的道理，还是情愿把所有的财产和事业，留给子孙，Sigh!

西方人认为，一个有教养的绅士，有职责和义务，以自我的财富和本领，回馈社会，而不是贪得无厌、无止境地索取。国外有些社区不太欢迎中国人，不是因为种族歧视，而是因为很多国人缺乏这种“回馈社会”的精神。美国的院校，每年能收到超多的公司和私人捐款。我所在的美国商学院的教学主楼，是一对老夫妇1998年捐献500万美元建成的。

由此想到，曾几何时，国内视个人主义如洪水猛兽。把Individualism翻译成个人主义和利己主义，作为一个贬义词或禁忌词，一向沿用到此刻。事实上，在西方Individualism是个褒义词，而自私自利英文用：selfish一词。在双赢(win-win)理念风靡的西方社会，为追 求企业和个人利益的最大化(Maximum value，人们认为：自私自利的人都是短视的人，最 终伤害的是自我的最大利益。大名鼎鼎的恩龙(Enron)，美国企业的一面旗帜，因造假舞弊而失信于公众，导致副总裁自杀，高层主管们被刑诉。庞大帝国，霎时灰飞烟灭，成为天下笑柄!有朋友说，中国也已经从"黑猫、白猫，只要抓到老鼠就是好猫"时代，进入到"黑鼠、白鼠，只要不被抓住就是好老鼠〃的时代!但愿这不是事实，我的祖国! “大厦千顷，眠七尺之躯;珍馐百味，可是一饱”。Henry我认为：人生区区百年，如匆匆过客。一方面要珍惜时光，奋力向前，尽可能感受人世间的酸、甜、苦、辣和冷暖，不枉活此生;另一方面，认清财富的本质：生不带来、死不带去，作金钱的主人而非奴隶，善用财富 ，利人利己!

一个民族的语言，是她特有文化的载体和沉淀，也是她传统的积累。而传统力量是如此的强大，本民族的文化的影响又是如此的根深蒂固，以至于到我(hez2@alum。rpi。edu)到美国两年以后，在和老外聊天时，常常几乎忍不住还要问一些早已明白不该问的“禁忌问题”。

比如，How old are you? 在国内多么平常的问题，尤其是熟悉了以后，问问年龄，彼此 称兄道弟，或姐妹相称，再自然可是了;喊句“老张、老李”什么的，尽管不老，被喊者心 里也高兴。

中华文化，有一种根深蒂固的怀旧情结，沉迷于过去---或许是因为我们的祖先太出色、 太优秀了的缘故吧。“历史悠久、百年老店”之类的，都是吸引人的亮点。我们崇尚“老” ，老，似乎是大智大慧、权威的代名词。

但在北美，却有着和我们的文化传统截然相反的理念。新的、年轻的才是生命和活力的象征(symbol)，人们崇尚年轻(worship youth);老的、旧的是死亡、落伍的象征。所以，年龄在北美是个十分忌讳(taboo)的问题，即使是朋友之间。如果你想让“英语为母语的人士”厌恶你，尤其是女士厌恶的，请大胆地问她年龄好了(They say: You are a pain in the neck。)。北美的很多人，个性怕过40岁生日。似乎过了40岁，就到了将要被社会抛 弃的年龄。You cannot teach an old dog new tricks。 She is no spring chicken 是北美 常用俚语。

所以，在和“老外”交往中，千万别暗示她/他的年龄，即使你不留意明白了。西方人有句幽默，称“永葆青春的唯一秘诀是：谎报年龄!”(老外提倡幽默，称为Positive thinking、positive attitude ，我在其它文章中有论述。但用英语和老外开玩笑，必须要留意，毕竟来自不一样的文化背景。可是，我自我有一个真实的、美国人的玩笑：美国人的确很自信，我曾被美国乞丐在大街上理直气壮地拦住要钱：One dollar for pizza!声音圆润而洪亮。猛然一听，我还真以为我欠他钱呢!等搬到纽约市后，又有很多次被乞丐拦住问：Do y ou have five dollars?谁让纽约市的生活费那么昂贵呢?) 。

其实，平心而论，年龄又有什么关系呢?很多人，号称活了几十年，可是是庸庸碌碌、苟延残喘、活了一天而重复了几万次而已。君不闻：有的人20岁就死了，可到了70岁才 被埋藏!年龄真的那么重要吗 在北美，无论加拿大还是美国，根据其劳动法(Labor Law)规定：雇主在招聘中，不允许问及应聘者的年龄、婚姻状况、性别、种族和宗教信仰的，上述原因也不得成为不予雇用的理由，否则就构成违法。轻则失去来自政府的采购合同，重则诉诸法律。

国内的招聘广告上常见：“要求25岁以下，未婚”。诸位恕我愚钝，但我就是弄不明白：除了招聘尼姑、和尚及老道，什么工作和“婚否”有关?又有什么工作非要25、30岁以下不可!

西方的那些真正的好东西，咱们怎样就学不到呢?!很多理念，包括她对个体的尊重、 对自由、财富和幸福的向往和不懈的追求，确实值得我们思考。你也会发现，这些理念，都 会在英语交流中得到充分的反映，我们的培训自然也会涉及到这些。

所以，想提高英语的朋友，除了多听原版、多看现代原着，能找个老外练练口语最好(还能交流思想。语言只是一种工具，它本身没有任何好处。)否则，上一个好一点的培训班也不错。交流的需要，产生学习的动机和兴趣。只顾一味的自我埋头学，或是永远“苦海无边”，或是学到的只是哑巴英语和Chinglish。多和Native speakers，或在国外学习生活过的人士交流，对提高英语，尤其是口语帮忙很大。否则，你费时、费力和费钱所学到的“ 屠龙之术”，只是限于用于和同胞进行“中国式英语”交流。很多中国人学习英语，所付 出的冤枉代价和所走的冤枉路，你必须要去重复吗?
