时间飞快，第一学期又结束了。在刚过去的学期中，我担任高一(13)班的英语教学工作。本学期初，在制定教学计划时我知道我的学生大部分来自农村，城区学生少，普遍英语底子差，基础薄，听说读写的英语能力也比较差，只有个别学生英语基础较好，有能力进行综合运用的培养与训练，但还不牢固，需要经过一段时间的学习，才能进行拔高训练，从而提高能力。

面对新的教学挑战和要求，我尽力去探索适合于我的学生的教学方法，时刻以提高学生的语言运用能力和为学生今后语言发展奠定基础作为目标。经过一个学期的努力，获取了一些教学上的成绩，也深刻地认识到了自己在教学中仍有许多须提高和改进的地方。

一、认真研究教材，分析学情，尽量做到应材施教

人教版新教材与先前的旧教材相比较难度增加，它更侧重语言知识的学习，同时在词汇，题材及文章的长度上学生在接受上有一定的困难。因此，教师的引导作用就显得尤为重要。所以，在备课时，我认真钻研教材，对教材的基本思想，基本概念，每句话，每个字都弄清楚，了解教材的结构，重点与难点，掌握知识的逻辑，能运用自如，知道应补充哪些资料，怎样才能教好。了解并认真分析学生情况，考虑教法，即解决如何把已掌握的教材传授给学生，包括如何组织教材，如何安排每节课的活动，力争将教材目标和学生的实际结合，尽量做到有针对性的开展教学。

二、采用多样的教学方式和策略来提高学生学习效果

英语是一门外语，对学生而言，既生疏又困难，而本学期更换教材又使的更多的学生产生畏难的情绪。在这样一种情形下，我们要教好英语，就要让学生克服对这门学科产生畏难情绪，消除不愿学，也无法学下去的想法。为此，我采取了一些方法，比如:学生英语听的能力相对较弱，在上听力课的时候，我将听力内容分解成一些句，段，把关键部分以填空的形式呈现出来，这样既降低了听力的难度又能吸引学生的注意力。

在阅读课上，将课文中的生词和短语板书到黑板上，读罢之后和学生一起反复利用这些生词和短语复述课文，这使得学生在进一步理解课文的同时也学会了运用语言的用运，还带动了那些基础较弱的学生一起参与到课堂中来。精讲多练是我采取的另一个巩固学生所学知识的方法。在课堂上，我少讲精讲，让每位同学做好笔记，掌握知识重点难点，然后给予他们更多的练习加以巩固，课后留有适当不同层次的作业让不同层次的学生去练习，这样通过精讲，多练，让学生在听的过程中掌握知识，在练的过程中巩固知识。

三、加强作业的反馈力度，帮助学生更好的了解自己的学习情况

作业是检查教学是否有效，帮助学生巩固课堂上所学知识的一种常见的很有效的手段。在做作业的过程中，学生进一步达到了语言的输出。理解，渗透和消化，而教师在批改作业的时候也可以从中了解到学生对所教知识的掌握情况。而学生的成绩也应该是在每一次作业中发现自己在学习中出现的问题解决问题的过程中的到提高的，所以作业问题的反馈也是教学中非常必要的一步。在上学期的教学检查中我发现自己平时在作业上仅限于按时批改，而学生在学习上好像也越来越没有方向，根本的原因是学生找不到自己在英语学习上的问题之所在。

鉴于此，本学期我加大了作业的反馈力度，每做一次作业之后，我都将做的比较好的认真的同学，尤其使平时比较沉默的，学习有潜力但没信心的同学的作业挑出来，认真研究作业中的优点如书写，思维方式等，然后在全班同学的面前表扬，鼓励。渐渐的这部分同学的学习也越来越认真，作业也越写越好，而对于那些作业方面问题大的同学，我尽量抽课间或自习课和他们交流，指出问题并给出指导意见。经过一学期的坚持，绝大部分学生的作业都完成的很出色。

四、利用多种资源来优化自己的教学方式

为了使自己的课堂教学更有效，我还积极利用课余时间上网查阅相关的资料，课件教案，结合自己的学生情况，取长补短，力争备一个高质量的教案，设计出一个更活泼的，适合自己学生情况的活动方案来提高自己的教学效果。实践证明，这种方式对我的教学工作起到了一个很大的推动作用，我会在今后的教学中继续坚持

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995 I entered the Nanjing University of Science &Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester and my overall GPA(89.5/100) ranked No.1 among 113 students. In 1999 I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test. I selected the Shanghai Jiao Tong University to continue my study for its best reputation on Combinatorial Optimization and Network Scheduling where my research interest lies.

At the period of my graduate study my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. In 1997 I participated in simulation tool development for the scheduling system in Prof. Wang’s lab. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. In 1998 I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis &dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In 1999 I joined the distinguished Professor Yu-Geng Xis research group aiming at Network flow problem solving and Heuristic algorithm research. Soon I was engaged in the FuDan Gene Database Design. My duty was to pick up the useful information among different kinds of gene matching format. Through the comparison and analysis for many heuristic algorithms I introduced an improved evolutionary algorithm -- Multi-population Genetic Algorithm. By dividing a whole population into several sub-populations this improved algorithm can effectively prevent GA from local convergence and promote various evolutionary orientations. It proved more efficiently than SGA in experiments too. In the second semester I joined the workshop-scheduling research in Shanghai Heavy Duty Tyre plant. The scheduling was designed for the rubber-making process that covered not only discrete but also continuous circumstances. To make a balance point between optimization quality and time cost I proposed a Dynamic layered Scheduling method based on hybrid Petri Nets. The practical application showed that the average makespan was shortened by a large scale. I also publicized two papers in core journals with this idea. Recently I am doing research in the Composite Predict of the Electrical Power system assisted with the technology of Data Mining for Bao Steel. I try to combine the Decision Tree with Receding Optimization to provide a new solution for the Composite Predictive Problem. This project is now under construction.

Besides In July 20xx I got the opportunity to give a lecture in English in Asia Control Conference (ASCC) which is one of the top-level conferences among the world in the area of control and automation. In my senior year I met Prof. Xiao-Song Lin a visiting professor of mathematics from University of California-Riverside I learned graph theory from him for my network research. These experiences all rapidly expanded my knowledge of English and the understanding of western culture.

高一新生正处于心理和生理的迅速发展阶段，这是他们成长过程中的一个特定时期。他们渴望独立，却又有较重的依靠心理;他们精力旺盛，而潜力水平又较低;他们有必须的自觉性，却易冲动，易受暗示，表现出较差的自制力。由于生理发展迅速而自我意识发展不平衡，容易动感情，常常为一些小事而激动，行为带有冲动性。

对于高一新生来说，英语学习的具体困难在于：

(1)初、高中英语知识目标和潜力目标的差异使高中新生对高中英语学习有一种陌生感。

(2)汉语言的语法结构规律及表达方式，汉语言的思维方式和思维习惯都对英语学习构成干扰。

(3)学习方法和思维习惯不同，在新的环境下需要时间来适应而同时发现自己成功的学习方法和思维方式被新的现实所否定，再加上思维定势，在学习过程中，缺乏必需的意志和韧性，对学习丧失信心。下面是作者在教学实践中提高高一学生英语学习潜力的一些经验：

一、重视过渡，从思想上帮忙学生适应变化

在初中阶段，英语教学侧重句型教学，讲简单的语法，词汇量要求不多。高中英语教学则要求学生掌握必须的阅读技能，加强阅读量，同时，语法知识更复杂、更系统，词汇量也大大地增多。这些变化对于刚踏入高中大门的学生来说，一时是很难适应的。有些初中时的佼佼者一时适应但是来，成绩下滑，学习兴趣就逐渐减弱。因此，高一教师一开始就要加大感情投入，给予学生细心的指导，让他们从思想上、心理上理解新的学习节奏。教师在教学中应善于发现学生的闪光点，给予充分的肯定和鼓励，让他们能尽快摆脱困境，适应并喜欢高中英语，以崭新的面貌，信心十足地投入高中英语的学习中。

高中教材资料丰富，知识容量大，并在初中的基础上注人了超多的语法点、知识点，使句子结构更为复杂，同时侧重提高阅读潜力且加大词汇量和阅读材料的份量，加上教师对重难点资料没有更多的时间强调，对各类题型也不可能全面讲细和巩固强化，学生一下子难以适应，教师要个性注意学生这方面的苗头，使学生尽快适应高中英语的教学。

为此，教师要认真学习和比较初高中教学大纲和教材，全面了解初高中英语知识体系，找出初高中知识的衔接点、区别点和需要铺路搭桥的知识点，透过摸底了解学生大致水平，利用上半学期的时间从语言、词汇、语法、句型等方面系统复习，及时给学生弥补初中的缺漏知识，要结合实例，采取与初中比较的方法，给学生讲清高中英语资料体系特点和课堂教学特点，让学生了解到初中英语与高中英语教学资料、方法及难度差别。在适当的时间可请高年级学生谈体会讲感受，向学生介绍一些优秀学习方法，引导学生少走弯路，尽快适应高中英语学习。

二、指导学生养成良好的英语学习习惯

高一是初中与高中学习的转折点，为了让高一学生在短时间内适应高中的英语教学，教师务必教会学生用科学的方法学习。

第一，培养学生的学习潜力，使他们学会学习。授人以鱼，只解一日之饥;授人以渔，足食终身之鱼。学校教育重要的不在于教学生多少知识，而在于培养他们获取知识的潜力、实践的潜力、终身学习的本领。在英语教学过程中，注重挖掘学生的学习潜力，使他们主动参与研究学习方法，培养其成就感。

其次，培养学生的学习方法，使他们善于学习在预习中学习。透过预习，学生能够自己先解决课文中较容易的问题，对难点也已做到心中有数，在课堂上就能集中精力与老师互动，用心参与到课堂教学中去，从而提高学习效率。在比较中学习。在学习新课时，要善于找出与以前所学知识相当或有各种联系的资料，对于其中的易混点、疑似点要善于分析比较，弄清细微差别。在设疑中学习。在学习过程中，要求学生自始至终带着疑问进行钻研，力求发现、总结、归纳出具有代表性的语言表现法或文章的脉络，从而实现知识的积累。

三、在教学中化解教学难度

为了满足不同层次学生的需要，可设计由易到难的不同梯度的任务目标，并想方设法分解教材中原有的难题，为学生修建坡度适宜的台阶，使每位学生都有机会体验成功。这样，基础好的学生能“如履平地”，基础差的学生也能够“拾级而上”。例如，Unit4的Reading部分是小说片段，描绘了两个人应对突如其来的洪水惊恐万状，尔后为了逃生所做的一系列的反应的故事情节。这段文字缺少上下文的支撑，叙述凌乱繁杂，不静下心来读，往往会不知所云。

笔者在教阅读课时，注意分解较难的教学任务，将其拆分成若干较易达成的目标，各个击破，改教材中的Pre-reading，Reading和Post-reading三个步骤为pre-reading，Fast-reading，Careful-reading和Post-reading四个步骤，并根据学情由易到难设置问题，使台阶较为平缓，便于学生到达目标。Pre-reading的问题尽量接近学生的实际生活;Fast-reading的问题是学生能够根据课文资料迅速作答的导读性问题;Careful-reading的问题往往与课文的细节有关，要求学生仔细核对相关信息;Post-reading的问题则通常是一些概括性的或扩展性的问题，用于锻炼学生的分析、归纳潜力和创造性思维，锻炼他们的语言组织潜力。本套教材中的听力题有难有易。为了让学生有效的进行听力训练，听力题的设置不宜太难。在教学中，务必针对学生的实际状况调整教材中难度较大的听力题，调整的方法有：听力训练前，针对材料的资料进行提示性提问;改回答问题为填单词完成句子等。

四、结合课文，拓充教学材料

笔者为学生带给必要的辅助材料，使教学目标更加具体，教学任务更加明确，帮忙学生抓住关键，克服表达上的困难，拓展知识，提高潜力。主要注重补充以下几方面的材料：

1、单元要点及学习指导。提前将计划教学单元的交际项目要点、语言知识要点、阅读课所需准备的问题和相关的练习整理打印，学生人手一份。这些材料能帮忙学生掌握单元的重点和难点，有利于他们的预习和复习，还为他们在课堂上的口头训练和笔头训练带给了支持。同时也节省了超多的板书时间，留出了时间组织课堂活动，到达了新教材大容量授课的要求。

如归纳词汇：Unit5的WarmingUp，部分要求学生分辨不同种类的音乐，谈论它们之间的区别，并描绘自己所喜爱的音乐的特点。学生对音乐这个话题并不陌生，但用英语来谈论音乐，他们感到为难，不明白哪些词能够拿来应用。为了便于学生表达，笔者带给了以下词汇让他们选用：classical，pop，folk，rockandroll，light，piano，dance，solomusic，symphony(音乐的种类);light，rela_ed，happy，sad，heavy(给人的感受);cheerful，livelymelody(欢快的曲调);strong，slow，soft，(音乐节奏)等等。有了这些词汇的帮忙，学生很快就投人到话题讨论中，在规定的时间内，用心思考问题，组织语言，课堂气氛显得十分活跃。

小结

高一是一个承前启后的过渡时期，也是培养学生自主学习的关键时期。培养学生的学习主动性，使学生养成自主学习的好习惯才是终身受益的。在课前可要求学生先预习，找出语言点;课后整理总结笔记，并发现重点难点。只有透过辅导学生掌握一套科学的学习方法，并培养学生的自学潜力，才能使学生的学习用心性和主动性得以发挥。自学潜力的提高还取决于学生课外超多的独立的阅读和综合训练。此时，教师就应是学生学习的促进者，要成为学生学习英语的激发者、辅导者、各种潜力和用心性的培养者，把教学的重心放在如何促进学生主动学习。这不仅仅能促进课堂教学的优化，而且也为学生的终身学习奠定基础。

作为区英语骨干教师，首先是在区级范围起到应有的辐射作用，然后在学校做到承上启下的骨干作用。对照当初制定的20PC年区骨干教师计划，我完成了既定目标、学到了很多东西。

一、读“精彩”

我们都知道读书的力量是无穷的，我们区英语骨干教师初中学科段在组长周玉萍校长的带领下，始终坚持读书，并进行区级范围内的交流。

本年度周校长发了两本英语教学的书籍，其中我虽然在毕红秋英语名师基地学习过了，但是我作为骨干教师，我通过组织学校全体英语教师学习《高中阅读设计》来帮助教师们一起学习、一起研讨、一起成长。

通过我的组织我们学校的英语老师深深感觉到读书的力量。通过学习和实际尝试我们体会到：

(1)阅读教学需要我们英语教师对于课本要非常熟悉;

(2)我们需要挖掘文本中的内涵;

(3)我们需要用一定的方法将阅读材料进行精心设计;

(4)阅读教学最终的目的应该是学生在教师的帮助下、在自己的理解下从阅读文本中学到了东西而且能感悟出其中的内涵;

(5)假如我们在阅读教学中有了设计感，而且融合了学生的体验感，那么我们的英语阅读教学一定有成效。

我们初中英语学段组还组织了一次读书交流会。我读了史金霞老师的《重建师生关系》并作了《感悟和谐师生关系的力量》的读后感交流。

二、学“内涵”

我们初中英语学段组活动多样，尤其是专家的讲座，如此多专家的精彩而又内涵和深度的专题讲座让我们感悟到专家的力量。

我们学习了英语特级教师张英老师的专题讲座《英语教案中目标的设定与表达》和《英语阅读课的设计》、《虹口区特级教师专场》(我们尤其对英语特级教师祈承辉老师的印象很深，大有余音绕梁之感)、《特级教师应晓求的专题讲座》、《特级教师毕红秋老师的专题讲座》、《华师大安桂清教授的讲座》等等。

学习诸多、体会之深的我写了如下几篇感悟性文章：《追求富有设计感和体验感的教学设计》、《智慧教师给予我们的灵感》、《习惯、经验、成长》等。

三、讲“辐射”

只有不断学习、积极反思，那么我们的课堂教学实践才会卓有成效。20PC年，我带领全体英语教师学习了《洋思中学老师的一天》，组织老师收看后老师们都觉得学到了很多。

除此之外，我又邀请了静安区英语专家郁耀昌老师来校为我们英语教师作了《基于质量分析的教学改进》的专题报告。经过半个学期的报告后的体会后，我们继光初级英语教研组于20PC学年度第一学期期末考试开始进行尝试性实践，针对20PC学年度第一学期期末考试我们一共写了4篇基于质量分析的教学改进的行动报告并于20PC学年度第二学期的第三周进行研讨，并邀请静安区英语专家郁耀昌老师来校作指导。

我们深信基于数据分析的有技术和策略的教学改进一定能给我们的英语教学注入活力与潜力。

四、重“实践”

作为骨干教师，除了做好学校内工作之外，我还经常参与青年教师的带教工作。本年度除了不间断地联系丰镇中学的沈亮之外，我在本校由带教了陆羽婷老师。

本校的陆羽婷老师在我的指导下从“理论学习”、“课堂实践”和“项目课题”三个方面进行了实践。在我的指导下陆羽婷在20PC年12月13日开了名为《ABirthdayParty》的校级公开课，取得了预期的效果。

另外，我自己也开了一节校级公开课《月考试卷分析之作文教学》，同时在全校范围内作了《课程标准修订后的四大变化》、《“教什么”与“怎么教”》的专题发言。同时，在20PC年7月暑假为全区初二和初三英语教师作了《20PC年中考之我见》的专题发言。

五、轻“荣誉”

在这一年里，在校领导的帮助和关心下，在学段组长以及学段组成员的支持和关心下，我也取得了一定的成绩。

1、20PC年度嘉兴街道个人先进;

2、20PC年9月《对初中英语讲学稿中如何设计同步作业的研究》获虹口区首届“七色彩虹”征文二等奖;

3、成功申请两个区校合作项目《基于绿色指标下的学生各科作业整合完成实践探索》和《“探究青铜文化、触摸文明历史”探究实践项目》;

4、在上海教育出版社的《20PC中考信息快递》上发表“词语和语法”(“真题解析”、“典例精讲”和“强化训练”三个部分，与区教研员合作发表)。

当然，我需不断自己提醒自己，其有二，一方面还要求自己不断努力，另一方面，荣誉代表过去，我一定要勇于开拓、积极实践，只有这样的“脚踏实地”，才能有以后的“仰望星空”。
