I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apples CEO， I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately， that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve， if the Board sees fit， as Chairman of the Board， director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes， I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apples brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple， and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

How things going on?

I was worried when I heard from TV that you were recently involved in a car accident. What a relief you were not hurt. You must be frightened, are you feeling better now? I am so sorry that I can’t go to see you because I am on a business trip. I promise I will come to see you as soon as I am back.

By the way, with more and more cars on the roads, you should drive the car as carefully as possible and dont drink before driving, for the life is only once. Safe is better than sorry.

his Saturday is my birthday and my parents will hold a simple celebrating party for me. I am glad to invite you to come to the party. Blair, Emma and Roan will also be invited.
