Research experience and academic activity When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. In 1997, I participated in simulation tool development for the scheduling system in Prof. Wang’s lab. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I d esigned a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. In 1998, I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to conv ert a laboratory idea to a commercial product. In 1999, I joined the distinguished Professor Yu-Geng Xis research group aiming at Netw ork flow problem solving and Heuristic algorithm research. Soon I was engaged in the Fu Dan Gene Database Design. My duty was to pick up the useful information among differe nt kinds of gene matching format. Through the comparison and analysis for many heuristi c algorithms, I introduced an improved evolutionary algorithm -- Multi-population Genetic

Algorithm. By dividing a whole population into several sub-populations, this improved algorithm can effectively prevent GA from local convergence and promote various evolutionary orientations. It proved more efficiently than SGA in experiments, too. In the second semester, I joined the workshop-scheduling research in Shanghai Heavy Duty Tyre plant. The scheduling was designed for the rubber-making process that covered not only discrete but also continuous circumstances. To make a balance point between optimization quality and time cost, I proposed a Dynamic Layered Scheduling method based on hybrid Petri Nets. The practical application showed that the average makespan was shortened by a large scale. I also publicized two papers in core journals with this idea. Recently, I am doing research in the Composite Predict of the Electrical Power system assisted with the technology of Data Mining for Bao Steel. I try to combine the Decision Tree with Receding Optimization to provide a new solution for the Composite Predictive Problem. This project is now under construction.

Besides, In July 20xx, I got the opportunity to give a lecture in English in Asia Control Conference (ASCC) which is one of the top-level conferences among the world in the area of control and automation. In my senior year, I met Prof. Xiao-Song Lin, a visiting professor of mathematics from University of California-Riverside, I learned graph theory from him for my network research. These experiences all rapidly expanded my knowledge of English and the understanding of western culture.

I hope to study in depth

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

1. Repayment of Loan

1.1 HHH has the right to request each of AAA, BBB, CCC, DDD, EEE and FFF (each hereinafter "the borrowing party") to transfer his/her interest in the JJJ Company to HHH or any person specified by HHH at any time; provided that such transfer will not be in violation of PRC laws and regulations.

1.2 The borrowing party shall execute all necessary documents relating to the transfer of the interest in the JJJ Company within three days following the receipt of the transfer request from HHH and shall cooperate with the designated transferee to complete all the procedures relating to the transfer of the interest in the JJJ Company.

1.3 Should the borrowing party transfer part of his/her interest in the JJJ Company to HHH or the person specified by HHH under HHH request, the borrowing party shall be viewed as having repaid the amount of the loan as calculated in accordance with the following formula: X=T(multiplication symbol) (A degrees(division symbol)B). X means the amount of the loan deemed repaid, T means the total amount of the loan, A means the number of shares of the JJJ Company being transferred to HHH or the person specified by HHH, and B means the total number of the shares of the JJJ Company held by the borrowing party.

1.4 HHH agrees that the borrowing partys fulfillment of the obligation to transfer his/her full interest in the JJJ Company to HHH or the person specified by HHH shall be viewed as having repaid all of his/her loan.

1.5 Unless with the written consent of the borrowing party, HHH shall not request the borrowing party to repay his/her loan in any form other than the transfer of the interest of the JJJ Company.

1.6 Unless with the written consent of the HHH, the borrowing party shall not transfer any of his/her interest in the JJJ Company to any third party.

1.7 The parties, on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and both faith and through friendly negotiations, shall determine the method of the repayment if the borrowing party, under the PRC laws and regulations, is not able to transfer his/her interest in the JJJ Company to HHH or the person specified by HHH.

2. Effective and Miscellaneous

2.1 This Agreement goes into effect as of the date of signature by the parties.

2.2 Should there is any conflict between this Agreement and any other prior agreements or arrangements among the parties, the terms of this Agreement shall prevail.

4. Party B shall respect Chinas religious policy, and shall not conduct religious activities incompatible with the status of an expert.

5. Party B shall respect the Chinese peoples moral standards and customs.

Ⅶ Revision, Cancellation and Termination of the Contract

1. Both parties should abide by the contract and should refrain from revising, canceling, or terminating the contract without mutual consent.

2. The contract can be revised, canceled, or terminated with mutual consent. Before both parties have reached an agreement, the contract should be strictly observed.

3. Party A has the right to cancel the contract with a written notice to Party B under the following conditions;

(1) Party B does not fulfill the contract or does not fulfill the contract obligations according to the terms stipulated, and has failed to amend after Party A has pointed it out.

(2) According to the doctors diagnosis, Party B cannot resume normal work after a continued 30 day sick leave.

4. Party B has the right to cancel the contract with a written notice to party A under the following conditions:

(1) Party A has not provided Party B with necessary working and living conditions as stipulated in the contract.

(2) Party A has not paid Party B as scheduled.

Ⅷ Breach Penalty

When either of the two parties fails to fulfill the contract or fails to fulfill the contract obligations according to the terms stipulated, that is, breaks the contract, it must pay a breach penalty of US$500 to 2,000 (or the equivalent in RMB).

If Party B asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, it should produce certifications by the department concerned, obtain Party As consent, and pay its own return expenses; If Party B cancels the contract without valid reason, it should pay its own return expenses and pay breach penalty to Party A. If Party A asks to cancel the contract due to events beyond control, with the consent of Party B, it should pay Party Bs return expenses; if Party A cancels the contract without valid reason, it should pay Party Bs return expenses and pay a breach penalty to Party B.

Ⅸ The appendix of this contract is an inseparable part of the contract and has equal effect

Ⅹ This contract takes effect on the date signed by both parties and will automatically expire when the contract ends. If either of the two parties asks for a new contract, it should forward its request to another party 90 days prior to the expiration of the contract, and sign the new contract with mutual consent. Party B shall bear all expenses incurred when staying on after the contract expires.

Ⅺ Arbitration

The two parties shall consult with each other and mediate any disputes which may arise about the contract. If all attempts fail, the two parties can appeal to the organization of arbitration for foreign experts affairs in the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and ask for a final arbitration.
