初中时代的我学习成绩优秀、尊敬师长、团结同学，作为团员和班干部，我能够以高标准严格要求自己，做好老师的左膀右臂和同学们的好榜样。高中我考入了xx班这个优秀的集体，我会做的更好，继续高标准严要求，在保证学习的同时积极参加班级和学校的活动，如果有机会，我愿意为老师和同学们服务。高中期间，我为自己制定了一下几方面的要求：

首先，在思想上，严格要求自己，作为初中就成为团员的我来讲，以团员的标准严格要求自己，不只是一个口号，更是一种习惯，只有在思想上有了准备，才能在学习和生活中做到更好。

其次，在学习上，我会做到认真听讲，按时完成作业，每天做好预习和复习，让自己对每天接受的新知识有一个系统的概念，在初中的基础上，总结凝练出一套适应高中功课的新方法，做到不偏科，全面发展。

第三，在生活上，我尊敬师长、团结同学、以班为家，在初中我做过班委，为班级的发展贡献出了自己的一份力。进入了高中，如果也能有为班级、为老师、为同学服务的机会，我也会义不容辞的接受，并做到最好。

我们高一x班作为实验班，都是由分数靠前的学生组成的，生源条件相对较好。因此我觉得在学习方面的压力应该不大，今后的班级发展也应该思想、思想综合全面提高，让我们班不光是分数第一，还要做到思想道德品质第一、活动组织第一等等，要做到全面发展、全面争优。

General introduction

i am a third year master major in automation at shanghai jiao tong university, p. r. china. with tremendous interest in industrial engineering, i am writing to apply for acceptance into your ph.d. graduate program.

education background

in 1995, i entered the nanjing university of science technology (nust) -- widely considered one of the chinas best engineering schools. during the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. i was granted first class prize every semester,in 1999, i got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.

at the period of my graduate study, my overall gpa(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. in the second semester, i became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. this year, i won the acer scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade fordistinguished students endowed by my university. presently, i am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of excellent graduation thesis.

research experience and academic activity

when a sophomore, i joined the association of ai enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. with the tool of opengl and matlab, i designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. it is now widely used by different research groups in nust. i assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis dispose project for nanjing sewage treatment plant. this was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

in retrospect, i find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the ph.d. program. my future research interests include: network scheduling problem, heuristic algorithm research (especially in ga and neural network), supply chain network research, hybrid system performance analysis with petri nets and data mining.
