General Introduction

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission test.

At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

实习学校.市二中学,上海市第二中学,自己初中,高中7年的母校,可以说是再熟悉不过,看到大学里对口的学校里有这所的时候,没有丝毫犹豫地就填进了志愿里,也如愿的在母校开始了大学必经的实习阶段,也是别有一番意义的.回学校实习,亲切万分,亲爱的老师们还在,接受教育的学生们却是一张张全新的面孔,想想自己离开学校3年来的进进出出,目前的3个年级都是我毕业后考进市二的学生.学校的操场,小花园,甚至是几间教室,都是充满回忆的地方,接下来实习的日子,走过这些地方的时候,过去的记忆就不断在脑海里回旋.

初日.我们一行8位同学到达市二后,接待我们的是现任教导主任高萍老师,她向我们简单介绍了下学校目前的状况,以及实习期间需要注意的一些事项.接下来是认识带教老师,我与其他2位同学分到高一,其余5位同学到高二.英语学科的带教老师是王雅芬老师,教学经验丰富,还担任高一的年级组长;班主任唐虹老师,自己高三时,她教过我政治,算是相当熟悉,呵呵.带教老师和班主任都向我们简单介绍了一下所带班级的基本情况.第一天只是熟悉下校园,第二天正式到班级,当时想到就要面对40多个学生,不免还是有点担心和紧张.

身份.实习老师,是个很特别的存在.还记得第一次被班级里学生叫老师好的时候的那种错愕,渐渐适应,然后自如反应,点头示意.开始的一个礼拜,日渐习惯起学校的生活,仿佛重回高中时代一般,只是是以一种全新的角度来看待学生,以老师的身份来要求自己了,这种感觉挺奇妙的,以往觉得“高高在上”的老师,突然间成了身边的“同事”,作为实习老师,又该以怎样的态度去面对高中的学生?身份的转变,是实习阶段第一个要跨越的坎吧,正确认识自己的身份:带教老师的学生,高中学生的老师.

高一(X)班.担任实习班主任工作的班级是高一(7)班,高一年级两个理科班之一,与我那时的理科班大为不同,现在理科班的学生不像我们那时那么沉闷,就像班主任唐老师所说,对于老师来说是喜忧参半吧,毕竟调皮的学生太多,比较不容易控制.一进教室就看到教室后的墙壁上贴满了奖状,看的出来这个班级在学校里也是相当活跃的,学校里评选的各个之星,几乎7班也每个都有份.班上同学的性格很活泼,几天相处下来,就建立起了不错的关系,谈谈班级同学,日常琐事,甚至也有同学会来找我解答问题,谈谈理想,也让自己渐渐有了的确是个老师了的觉悟.

听课.实习的必经阶段,听课不仅能够学习带教老师的教学方法,也能熟悉自己将要教学的班级.高中阶段的英语课程与大学里大不相同,尽管自己以前高中时也上过牛津的教材,现在的教学要求又有新的变化,也因老师的不同,教学方法上有很大的差异.带教的王老师教态相当严谨,备课很充分,听第一节课的时候就觉得整节课规划的很好,让学生知道这节课要完成的内容,就算有突发状况的发生,也能自行控制好时间等等.学校规定的听课是10节左右,自己基本上能去听的课都去了,为的是想了解整个章节上课的完整过程,每个部分都有不同的上课手段和形式,都是值得学习的地方.大学里所学的英语教学法课程,提及不少教学方法,光纸上谈兵当然不行,真正坐在教室后面听课的感觉很不一样,教学的内容就算一样,方式也可以有很多种,可以老师自己授课,可以让学生回答问题,可以结合练习加深印象,对于学生的回答,老师给予的鼓励也可以有很多种,比如: ‘Do you think there is something else?”, “I appreciate your answer”, “I think you must have a lot to say.”还要注意是否自己会漏掉一些没有专心听讲的学生,适当地抽他们回答问题来让他们集中注意力,板书的排布也不能天马行空,而是要让学生一看就明僚…这些都是书本上很难学到的东西.一周的听课下来,我们几个实习生进行了小小的交流,感触都很深,除了以上提到的这些,光是 “Sit down, please.”这一句,一个老师一节课就要说上几十遍,教学的内容固然重要,学生与老师间基本的尊重,也是我们今后教学中需要注意的地方.

大家晚上好!今天很荣幸能够参加这样一个很有意义的活动。在大家看过刚才的视频之后，大家应该会对我有了一个初步的认识，在此，我向大家介绍一下自己，我是来自计算机学院05级的刘婧。我虽然学习工科，但我确深深的爱上了艺术，在我很小的时候就孕育着对艺术的热情，直到大学，我将我小小的梦想逐渐放大，走上了理工大的舞台，从此开始我的T台梦想……

我想这在我的成长中是一个漫长的过程，从第一参加校园模特大赛，到湖北省的世界顶尖超级模特大赛，再到后来的天津汽车模特大赛，一次一次新的尝试，新的挑战，这一过程给予我的不仅是舞台上的专业技巧锻炼，更多的是让我学会一个人坚强，在一条陌生的道路中摸爬滚打，一路赶，拼;除此之外，我得到了很多的朋友对我的力挺和帮助，尤其是真正指引我走上服装表演舞台的一位很有能力的学姐——刘洪利。我们正是因为这个舞台而相识，记得参加湖北省超模大赛时，她花费大量时间亲自帮我准备比赛服装，看到我一路顺利晋级，她欣慰的对我说：如果条件允许，在你决赛的那天，我会给你做套最闪亮的纸装。

记得大三加入艺术团，作为首任模特队队长之后，我带领了我们模特队的优秀队员参加了“森马杯”湖北省大学生服装秀比赛，那时正值12月寒冬，每个队员都带着饱满的激-情积极的准备比赛，天气虽然寒冷，但大家相处的和-谐气氛将每个人的心中都加了温，我们在秦晓静老师和前任团长的配合下，来到了武汉科技学院阳光校区的比赛场地，依稀还记得大家在后台忙碌的闲暇还忘不了相互之间的鼓励，我们正是在这样的过程中慢慢形成了彼此之间的默契，我们是有凝聚力的团队，是大家共同的团队，缺少哪一位都不会完整T台上的博弈需要我们共同努力，人生的舞台上也需要我们并肩一路前行!

在“那夜花开”毕业晚会的一个月紧张的筹备工作中，我也荣幸的加入了由刘洪力带领的化工学院晚会工作组，虽然在最初的宣传工作上遇到了一些小困难，但在而后的外联，新闻，后勤等部门的协调下，由我负责的模特演员工作也逐渐顺势展开，从来没想过，自己要承担起六七十名模特的安排工作，要根据晚会的要求，将模特分为开场，经典，古装，晚装，婚纱五个组，再分别安排每个组的排练，人员调度，这样的压力对我确实是一个很大的考验，不仅仅是能力上的，更来自于心理，很多的疑问也会出现在我的头脑中，如何从100多位报名者中选出最合适的60多名模特;在一个小小的西院大学生活动中心的场地里，如何安排这么多名模特的训练;每一场秀要如何编排……这一个个的问题在我身上形成了一种强大的压力感和使命感，很怕哪一个环节会因为自己的原因出现问题影响整体，甚至有时会不理解刘洪利学姐为什么会把这么大的责任放在我一个人的身上。工作一步步按照计划进行着，我一点一点地摸索，慢慢得让自己进入这样的轨迹中运行着，在这过程中将之前的那些问题一个一个的解决，当不知不觉中一个月已经过去时，最后的晚会也即将上演，我们所有工作人员和全体演员都盼着激动人心的那一刻早点到来， 当一场完整闪耀夺目的晚会呈现在我们眼前时，看到无数的观众为我们欢呼时，我发现自己曾经付出的都是值得的。前任团长乔江语重心长的对我说：这次之后，你也跟着它一起成长了许多。是的，我在心里默默告诉自己：我更加热爱这个舞台，更加热爱这里一起奋斗过的集体，同样我也相信其他的所有演员和工作人员都为能在这样的集体中奋斗过而感动。
